Being much more productive after a break as I don't spend half the day procrastinating. Will man up and finish DC and Astorath by end of next week (half done) and I bought some scouts I'll get around to Christmas time.

Might even buy a gladiator executioner or a land raider after how much fun I had on the Baal.

Detail

Starting to bring these guys together.

No way am I finishing the 2,000 points before my battle with the World Eaters but I will have it done by the warplings tournament.

Have  Lemartes and Astorath primed (taking 1) as well as the DC, primed, already with my custom finished bases and a bit of metal work done.

About half way done on DC and about 4/5 done on the SG and captain.

  • 2 weeks later...

Finally made it up to Sydney for a holiday and to Catch up with a old friend and World Eaters incarnate.

Was pretty funny. He pulls out 3 illegal blank bases that counted as a Brigands detachment, then did the same with 2 blank bases that were maulerfiends and he ran 2 legit forgefiends.

He ran a squad aof Jackals, 8 bound and Angaron bit we put some other models on the table just for photos. Was a horribly bracketed game and after a couple of Lagavulins and a very late night at SM2 VR (highly recommend) I threw in the towel end of round 2 without picking up a model.

A Ballistus Dread and 3 erradicators couldn't take 4 wounds off Angaron and everything else near was T10+

I didn't even know what blank bases were what by then.

10th is just like that but let him know he's a power gaming a#$hole that I still love.

I hate Khorne but he was in the room. Gabe broke Angaron at the start of the night and I broke the Sanguinor at the end (both repaired) and every advance roll, charge roll and damage roll was very high.

Nearly every advance was a 6".

Some observations about playing World Eaters.

1. If WE go first Angaron is charging something so plan around that.

2. They can actually score and score very quickly. Don't panic if they are 50 points by turn 2. Panic if they are 70 by turn 3.

3. Pretty sure WE shooting phases don't usually go for 25 minutes. Might be the allied Chaos knights. Lol.

4. We really struggle against them of we aren't charging. Especially the daemon engines that are much more mobile.

5. We have a lot more fights first and rapid ingress options.

6. Scout 10 man conga line is almost a must against them. I tried 5 across the mid board and it forced them wide or short and centre. That's very powerful for 120 you can really slow them down.

Didn't learn much else except for minor rules understandings.

Rest of Sydney was very, very good as well so a great holiday and catch up.

Was 7 years in the making.

And finally it was awesome to actually make my Blood Angels fly. They made it there and back safely and was very proud that they are only 4 months old and have already traveled 1,500 km flying.

Might take them to US and Europe later in the year.
