What is The Call to Arms, I hear you ask?

The Call to Arms is a new multi-forum event designed to encourage us all to start a new army, or bolster our current armies.

The Forums of the B&C are divided up into four Strongholds; Imperium, Chaos, Xenos, and Heresy.  For the next three months the 8 Forums of the Xenos Stronghold will be competing to claim Victory over the other Xenos Forums, with all four Strongholds being compared at the conclusion of the Event.

There are two categories for Victory in both the Forums and Strongholds, the Forum/Stronghold who has painted the most points worth of models, and the Forum/Stronghold with the highest % of completion (Participants vs Completions).

Start Date: 15th June

End Date: 17th September

How do I join in?

Models for The Call to Arms have been allocated a point value based around their size, the time they take to paint, and the amount of effort generally taken to paint them, this is why some models of different sizes appear in the same categories, and why Characters are worth more.

The below list should cover every model for the Aeldari;

1pt    Guardians, Aspect Warriors, Wraith Guard/Blades

2pts   Jetbikes

3pts   Support Weapon Teams, Vyper, War Walker

4pts   Wraithlord, Star/Void weaver, Hornets

6pts   Crimson Hunter/ Hemlock Fighter, Falcon Chassis Grav-tanks

8pts   Scorpion, Cobra

10pts Wraithknight

5pts   Leader and Unit Composition: 1 OR Epic Hero, Autachs, Warlocks, Farseers

10pts Avatar of Khaine

6pts   Fronteris Landing Pad, Mechanicus Forgeshine, Mechanicus Galvanic Magnavent

10pts Zone Morialtis Gang Stronghold

Note: Custom/Scratchbuilt terrain- use this list as a guide as to how many points tour terrain is worth, but please make sure to mention your terrain is custom when Vowing.

All points are per model. For example if you pledge 20 Guardians (1ptx20), 3 Jetbikes (2ptsx3), a War Walker (3pts), and a Farseer (5pts), your vow would be worth 34pts

If you have any questions or queries, or there's a model you want to paint but isn't listed, just @Grotsmasha and I'll be more than happy to help you out.

Please feel free use this thread as a place to share your thoughts, ideas, and WIPs throughout the Event to motivate and inspire the Aeldari, and the Xenos to Victory!!!

@Grotsmasha One question, just in case I might complete my second Imperium pledge and have enough time to fill a new one for Xenos later: how much points for the Yncarne?

  • 10pts as per the almighty Avatar (Hail Kaehla Mensha Khaine!)
  • 5pts (What a disgrace in that case... being seen as a lesser avatar of a lesser god)

Thanx

  • 4 weeks later...

I have been for a long time wondering if I would enlist my Yncarne model or not. there are 3 days left and I can spend most of my lazy time painting, so, I guess I can make it. I will be playful and bet I can finish the model before deadline is met.

Let's go to the workbench now!

2 intense days. I painted sub assemblies of the base + first half of the swirl on one hand and the Yncarne itself on the second hand. The rest off the swirl was left on the sprue to be prepainted there.

I stayed quite close to the genune colours for the swirl: white greyish hair and frosthearth for the energy waves.

The Yncarne goes red and gold. Weapons are bone style. I went for a dagger and the paired big sword.

As the pallet is narrow, I got most of it done in these 2 days: next step is the final assembly and unifying all of it with dry brush and lighting colours on edges. Tomorrow will be a hurry. I hope it will not be too nightmarish for the final part of the energy waves: first section was a challenging stage...
