What is The Call to Arms, I hear you ask?

 

The Call to Arms is a new multi-forum event designed to encourage us all to start a new army, or bolster our current armies.

 

The Forums of the B&C are divided up into four Strongholds; Imperium, Chaos, Xenos, and Heresy.  For the next three months the 7 Forums of the Imperium Stronghold will be competing to claim Victory over the other Imperial Forums, with all four Strongholds being compared at the conclusion of the Event.

There are two categories for Victory in both the Forums and Strongholds, the Forum/Stronghold who has painted the most points worth of models, and the Forum/Stronghold with the highest % of completion (Participants vs Completions).

How do I join in?

 

Models for The Call to Arms have been allocated a point value based around their size, the time they take to paint, and the amount of effort generally taken to paint them, this is why some models of different sizes appear in the same categories, and why Characters are worth more.

Note: Custom/Scratchbuilt terrain- use this list as a guide as to how many points tour terrain is worth, but please make sure to mention your terrain is custom when Vowing.

 

 

All points are per model. For example if you pledge 20 Skitarii (1ptx20), 3 Kataphrons (2ptsx3), a Kastellan (3pts), and a Tech-Priest Dominus (5pts), your vow would be worth 34pts

Ready to enlist with 10 negavolt cultists as proxi corpuscarii, one marshal, one archeotechnolog, one seer and a full patrol box. 51 pts. That may grow up with KT scenery of the 2 first boxes of this season...

I can confirnm the enlistment of these units under the AdMech Banner (even if the Master of the Watch is joining the band alone mainly because I am unlikely to set DW or SM during this summer cahllenge)

• 1 Admech Patrol box inc. 1 Manipulus (5pts), 3 Serberis (6 points), 10 Skitarii (10 points) and 5 Pteraxii (5 points) - total 26 points
• 1 Master of the Watch - total 5 points
• 1 Archeotechnologist (5 points), one Engineseer (5 points) and 1 Marshall (5 points) - total 15 points
• 10 Negavolt cultists as proxi Electropriests - total 10 points
• Admech scenery inc. 3 small machines (3 points), 2 big machines (4 points) and 1 generator (6 points) - total 13 points

For a grand total of 69 points for the Glory of Adeptus Mechanicus and the Imperium Stronghold on or before 17th September 2024, or bear the badge of failure until years end

 

And I can already report some progress with the Machinery from KT Salvation completed:

Today´s milestone is the completion of the Generatorum hub for 6 points.

I sticked to my standard painting schmes for gantries and imperial buildings. So greyish and bone colours combined.

Still progressing. After the Negavolt cultists last week, I finisehed 3 characters and the mounts of the Serberys raiders just now.

 

 

There is still however half of the pledge waithing to be mounted and/or painted ... So a cup of tea and I go back to the paint station...

Still progressing, with 71% completion in painted point value.

This week saw the addition of the Serberys Raiders and the Manipulus.

 

 

But as one may eventually see in the background of the pics, the Rangers are well on tracks too.

I hope to get some 100% completion before end of week.

No choice as my hobby space will be back to its guest room function for the whole next week, so... any small delay will cost extra accumulated delay. Sort of missed window of opportunity.

I thought I could complete the pteraxii this week. It will not happen. A stupid prick (aka myself) hit an opened pot of drakenhof shade. The resulting tsunami bathed the prepainted parts aligned nearby. I have not been swift enough to properly clean and rinse. Damages imply a good redo work. I am thetefore entering in a 3 days autoinflicted rage managment program to get rid of my frustration. I swear I will not touch a single brush before wednesdsy next. I don t feel calm enough to resume the paint work atm...
