Also on the show itself, I preferred this new format. Bit more static and staged, but less empty talk for 10 minutes between each video reiterating they like the stuff that's coming out.

If they can get the talks to have a bit more content and be a little more natural I think they have a winner in the preview format.

Well yet again Astartes players for HH get shafted.

Yes the new Mechanicum stuff looks great (it really does) and hopefully it brings even more people into HH game.

But seriously GW, for the love of the Emperor release something that isn't a resin character.

I mean... Astartes can take Castellax, Thallax and such with several Consuls/Rites of War. So 'technically' they got something. :P

It'll be interesting to see if the non-bolter ranged weapon choice for the Orrus Spyrers is a Cawl "Neo-Volkite" or a regular Volkite weapon of some flavor.

I'm equally curious to see if the "improvement" they mention is just a rules mechanic, or if the models themselves are designed to "improve".

Oooh i didnt notice the Orrus Volkites option, thats interesting given their total lack of options previously they were stuck with their bolt pistol thingees. The old fluff definitely had the Spyrer suit physically upgrade itself through use, but im not sure how most of that would be represented easily on the model?

Really glad theyve solidly stamped down on the Spyrers/Tau link too as that never made much sense, Spyrer suits are ancient things, very much unlike the Tau! :)

Really looking forward to my precious Jakara though, far and away the most OP suit :D

Interesting stream, with some nice stuff shown off.  The highlight for me was definitely the Necromunda set!  I think I'll be picking one of those up (assuming GW make more than a handful and the price is reasonable).  Those Van Saar Tek Hunters will be a fine addition to my IG Army, serving as either a Veteran team or as 'Kasrkin'.  The new Orrus suits look the business, and I hope we get the rest of the Spyrers over the next year or so too!

One interesting thing, for those that care, is that the Hive Scum they mention in the WarCom article about it all aren't on the main Necromunda page - you have to search for them and they pop up.  I did wonder why I couldn't find them to begin with.  Another example of GW's fail with the new website.

The admech stuff is amazing, it's way more than I expected, and hopefully a bit more will be released with the box set. Necromunda also had an awesome release. 40k was kinda meh for me. Neat, but compared to the specialist games releases, very meh.

To quote the article:

"That’s still not everything you can expect to see in the coming months, and we’ll have more announcements soon. In the meantime, head back to our Preview hub to see everything else revealed today."

The Mechanicum plastics are all amazing and I'm very surprised to see so much follow so soon after Solar Auxilia, but I also just really wanted to see the plastic melee weapons, which we really should not have been waiting two years for. I hope we see them soon and don't have to wait until Heresy Thursday resumes in (presumably) July...

Overall a very solid preview though. Far more Mechanicum than anticipated, which will hopefully help grow 30k's playerbase, and those messed up Genestealers look absolutely fantastic.

Damn, man. Why can GSC ally a 50% of their army with Astra Militarum units and not Chaos Cult?????

There can be only one god. Chaos Cult plus Genestealer Cult doesn't fit at all. Allied Imperial Guard makes sense though because it represents the Cult infiltrating the guard.

I think Garracs issue is that Chaos cult cannot take Guard units, not mixing chaos and xenos cultists.

Does looks like a lot of good stuff in this, if you are into those armies. I’m not at all into the mechanicum as an army myself, or any of the others involved in this launch, but this is a ton of awesome stuff for those players so I can see why there’s a lot of excitement. You can’t please everyone every time.

The new mechanicum are great, absolutely stunning. Pretty sure I'm going to buy in as an allied detachment for my Sons of Horus. The Hive Secundus stuff seems pretty cool as well.

However... am I the only one that didn't like the presentation? The conversations with the designers were very brief and shallow. The whole thing felt very stagey  and stilted. I miss the fanboy enthusiasm of Adam Troke and (in particular) Eddie Eccles.

Yea and no, the effervescence from them got a bit nauseating to be honest.

I have to say, from a technical stand point, GW really have upped their plastic game.

The Mechanicum in plastic are barely indistinguishable from their resin counterparts and the Spyrers are amazing.

The Solar Auxilia releases recently were also great.

The Horus Heresy plastics have really been great, and at a low price point for GW as well. Feels like the specialist games studio is winning at customer satisfaction these days.

There's really some actual thought and planning that went into how they designed the sprues and kits. I've been quite impressed at the long term planning done in those designs, even if there's some individual kits I wish they'd do that they haven't.

Getting Solar Auxilia and now Mechanicum out with some solid plastic releases is purely good for the game as a whole.

It does make me wonder who they think is watching these preview streams, like , with the caveat that our average age is around 40 so we may not be typical, only half my group ever bothers to watch them, even on youtube. This isnt marketing to potential new players or corporate customers, i feel like most of the watchers are already engaged both with online and the products they are previewing. We dont really want surface level, we want details, and lots of shots of the minis!

But then GW has long been weirdly allergic towards behind the scenes information or explanation outside of balance passes (And i dont know how good those are because im not interested) so i guess even surface level and awkwardly "professional" is better than nothing? But they absolutely have staff how are very comfortable doing these kind of interviews even live, let alone prerecorded, lets hear them!
