Or, just to continue making Necromunda a hilarious mass of things that make no sense from a general setting standpoint, they randomly have a Men of Iron gang running around that every Imperial authority managed to miss.

To be fair, the whole of Necromunda represents things that the Imperium would normally not allow but are too small-timey to warrant notice;

  • Goliath is a fully self-suficient mutant strain of humanity
  • Escher practice gene-splicing forbidden since the days of the Great Crusade
  • Orlock are the more normal of the bunch, but they have an anti-authoritarian streak that is anathema to Imperial political doctrine
  • Cawdor are obviously a deviation from 'proper' faith, since the Redemtionist creed is outlawed by the wider Ecclesiarchy
  • Van Saar represents non-admech views on technology
  • Delaque is humans living in symbiosis with Xenos

I think necromunda is the right place to explore things like surviving Men of Iron and such

My suspicion is that the Legions preview is just the next  Campaign book, and no "new" models that haven't already appeared on a Thursday.

I hope they go back to something like Siege of Cthonia for the narrative. I wasn't a fan of the Beta-Garmon book's narrative. I guess I expected what I saw on the cover: an apocalyptic offensive led by the Warmaster himself, one that would not be matched until the siege itself. Instead we got a side story with the Khan striking at the campaign's supply lines which was... okay and cool and all. But it sure came short of the cataclysmic clash promised by the name "Beta-Garmon".

The silhouette over the left shoulder of the assumed Thanatar looks like the plasma mortar (but it has some kind of “flaps” which aren’t on the original), but to my knowledge they don’t have chain weapons. Honestly the hip and arm joints all seem too skinny for a Thanatar based on the current design. It appears more in line with the design of Knights to me. Could be the rumored “shielded knight” Valrak mentioned.

I don’t think the one on the left is an Ursarax…some of the design fits but the calves are too sleek compared to the current blocky resin sculpt. The claw that’s visible behind the obvious GSC guy is also very large…much larger than the claws on current Ursarax. The pistons on the inside of the thighs are very similar to pistons on the current AdMech models in various places.

Unless there’s  been a larger divergence from the current resin to updated plastic, I’m thinking the one on the left is some kind of robot for Necromunda, with my copium hoping it’s a Dark Mechanicum model for 40K. The one on the right could be a Thanatar…but some of the design elements make me think 40K Knight

Those flaps actually do make sense for the model:

Eye of Error: Legio Fureans Thanatar Siege Automata WIP

It's just that we don't see that model as often as we'd like.

I had no idea that’s what the plasma mortar looked like outside of the official FW photos….i stand corrected!

Idk why but that pic makes me want to buy three of them if they come out in plastic.

Specifically to pose them like the Pillar Men from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure...

My god, I think I got a theme in mind for a Mechanicum army!

I certainly wouldn't get your hopes up for an admech plastic release wave in the immediate future.

I think it's extremely likely. With the Mars teaser from the last event and a general lack of movement in the Heresy space since Solar Auxilia, Admech seems the logical next step. And doing the teaser and then only releasing one model seems...... misguided. Even for GW.

Depends on how "immediate," you're talking though. I could easily see GW previewing this and not getting it out there until next year.

As far as I know they still generally stick to their rough plot previewing things more than 3 months away no? Not counting delays.

Defo in for a plastic Mechanicum battle group, whenever it does come out.

We may get a tease of the plastic version of this:

Mechanicum Triaros Armoured Conveyer

I hope not. I've wanted one of these for ages, best vehicle they've ever done, and the only thing that stopped me was the FW price. Hopefully the plastic one will be just a ridiculous, cause I've no need at all for one, but covet it so much

Seconded. Wonder if we'll see the ad mech "launch box" equivalent if nothing else. That or plastic ad mech knights(s)?

Yeah, pretty much. We've been burnt before though.

Personally, I'm hoping it is around 3-4 months away to give me time to save for it. And reduce the pile of grey a bit.

I know the possibility of those having 40k rules for admech is laughably slimnone to none but still a magos can dream. Depending on the price I still may pick them up, I've been eyeing the resin versions of those for years but could never pull the trigger on FW.

I was thinking Q4 at the earliest for an admech release or Q1 next year, with knights and Castellax releasing earlier as they can still sell independently. Necromunda is having a big release soon and I don't think the specialist games studio would make their two big releases simultaneously. The only thing that has me doubting that is they seem intent on transferring as many of the larger products from resin to plastic first and a Thanatar and admech tank release would fit that pattern and Valrak's rumours.

Although, don't they usually only toss in one big centerpiece for these? Spartan in the mk6 box, land raider in the mk3 box, dracosan in the auxilia box (although I suppose that's more two mediums combined with the russ.) Having a Thanatar and a Triaros seems like wouldn't leave room for much else, maybe 6 thallaxi or 20 tech thralls.

Cybernetica has always been the most popular part of 30k Mechanicum. I'd wager we are going to get all the robots before we get to see things like tanks or tech-thralls.

Ash wastes and heresy were both the same quarter in 2022, with ash wastes in April and heresy in June.

They may get legend version 40K rules in the future.

I paid so much for my resin Mechanicum HH 1.0 army, whyyyyy.

But it was so worth castrating this AV 15 Fortification, it was the one eagle-looking cannon, in that HH 1.0 game I played way back.  Oh man, I seized the initiative and rolled a 6 for Armour Penetration on my Myrmidon Destructors.  And they said Conversion Beamers were useless, hehehehehe.

Conversion Beamers are like the inverse of the inverse-square law.  They're the inverse-inverse-square law, explain THAT, unbelievers.

Whew...ya bring me my plastic Mechanicum.  Then suddenly [CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE ONLINE], you know that's what'll happen.
