The correct answer is six and two trade account price rises.

I know each one did not apply to  every model in their catalogue, but geez as a 40k player, and a space marines player specifically, I feel like I bore the brunt of those price increases! LOL.

I'm aware this was probably because I wasn't paying much attention to the prices in other 40k factions.

I have close friends. Of those close friends, most of us tend to game together in some form, be it D&D, boardgames, 40k, or AoS. Recently several of those close friends, who are into GW games (and have been, for going on 15+ years), say that they are either only buying from places they get discounts when they DO buy GW models (which will be rare), or focusing on what they already own in terms of GW model collections, because the cost has gotten too ridiculous. Some make $100k+, and for the midwest in the U.S. thats enough to afford GW hobbies, but it's the premise of it thats driving them away.

Going back to the 1980s GW products have ALWAYS been more expensive than their competitors (Chaosium, Palladium, West End Games, I.C.E., TSR, Ral Partha, Grenadier, etc). Prices go up over time, but it's felt like too many price increases over too short of a time period since after the launch of 8th.

I just wondered how common my friends-who-game situation is with the rest of you?

Not everything went up in all of the price increases but things the Astra Militarum units have increased a lot in price over the years. For example the Commissar that came with the Tempestus Start Collecting box was priced as 16,50€ in 2018 if you bought it separately and now it is at 24€ so almost 50% increase in 6 years. Most other kits in the Astra Militarum range had an overall increase of 30-50% based on my memory of the past prices (I don't keep record so I only remember a couple prices and some are no longer relevant because the infantry and command kits were replaced for the cadians).

Using the commissar as an example, if you bought 3 of them in 2018, you would pay 49,5€ and with current prices you would pay 48€ for 2 of them.

I'm sure as far as the board and shareholders are concerned the answer is not enough.

Hence the flaws of public listing and shareholders, especially companies that 100% worship at that altar 24/7, 365 days a year.
