Have they released Legends rules yet?

You see, this is the real question. By nerfing carriage to arms and pockets, this will inevitably shift the meta in favour of Genestealer Cults, who can easily field lots of both.

'Balanced playtesting'?

Pff.

No one saves these bags anyways.

No point of em.

This is demonstrably wrong. I had one in my kitchen drawer for months (years?) until last month I wanted to take Blackstone Fortress to a friend's house without it getting rained on. I saved it and I reused it.

Some 25 years ago in GW retail we were required to give a bag to everyone who bought something. The value of advertising the brand was judged to be greater than the economic and environmental costs. [Insert one's own political prejudice here about whether or not this is a Good Thing.] Sadly those bags were not durable and I've had to pick the decaying fragments from a more than a few boxes and drawers. I say sadly because I liked the 90s design (transparent with black stripes bearing the Citadel and GW branding) and would have liked to keep one.

So 5 of you collect bags.

The bulk, vast majority by far, are immediately thrown into a bin.

Starting to do something is better than nothing.

But y'all seem to think this is "progressive trends".

It's cost savings.

Gw not getting specialized bags made will save them a 10's if not 100's of thousands of savings over a few short years.

Besides they will no doubt either have paper bags on site, or a repurposedshipping box to place small items in.

What I do find weird is the lack of paper replacement.  I can't think of any shops that don't offer paper bags (or 'bags for life' but those are nearly as bad a single use bags) for customers who may have been caught out without a bag.  Whilst if I'm out shopping I will certainly have a bag with me now but I regularly pop into the Warhammer shop when I've got a spare 5 minutes in town.  No bag means no impulse purchases.  Good for me but an odd decision for a retail company.

I'm all for all shops getting rid of plastic bags.  Single use plastic is a big problem.  The charges did help but them not being made at all is even better.

Give them time. They'll be releasing an Adeptus Shopicus Carryall for people who have forgotten their bags. It will be shaped like a skull (and so carry less than your average bag for life). It will also be more expensive - at least 10x more than one from a supermarket.

yeah, cost savings branded as something much more virtous..

GW should start selling fabric tote bags in their stores.
Honestly surprised they aren’t doing this in conjunction with this

Don´t give them ideas - you do realize it will be fabric bags with a x3 price from everyone else. And of worse quality.... Right??

Ah, the Finecast era.

Cost savings? From a company as virtuous as Games Workshop? Frankly, I find the idea offensive!

Games Workshop wants us to believe it is being done for sustainability, according to their own announcement. Nothing about cost in there.

I, for one, trust Mr. Workshop.

It's actually a bit of a shame, because in my experience the GW plastic bags were actually pretty damn sturdy - far and away superior to the rubbish supermarkets have been peddling for years now - meaning they were reused and reused plenty of times over, rather than snapping after a short while and inevitably ending up in the bin.

This is a three side long thread about the removal of plastic bags?

Are you freaking serious?

Slow news month and the usuals grinding axes :D

Okay, so judging by the number of reports generated and the number of posts we have needed to prune, it seems best to lock this thread.

I never knew people cared about plastic bags so much.
