Chains for trophies

I just bought this box and i want to add some gold plated skulls to my SoH characters. But, I don't find a proper size for the chain who is going to have the skulls hanging. I want to give, specially inbthe case of terminators a kind of "chain belt" and in the power armored ones something like this:

and not like this:

 

Any ideas or suggestions? And the best places to get some?

I beleive people use fine jewellery chain, like 1mm or less.
