Hello,

I've been getting back into the hobby lately after life happened in 6th edition. I've decided to restart my Chaos Army going from a loyalist looking Fallen force to a modern Red Corsairs Warband, with a bit of Kill Team on the side.

I'll use this thread to publish the little projects I've been working on.

My first model on returning was Cypher.

Here is my first completed squad of Red Corsairs. I was always a fan of bolters back in the day.

I've also been experimenting with slap chop for Cultists and other horde type units. The first  and second image was my first attempts.

After getting a better understanding, I completed some more cultists I had sitting in my old pile of shame

Thank you.

I picked up the HH Praetor with great axe since it is such a cool model. I'll probably run it as a master of execution. The model was a bit daunting but lots of fun.

I experimented on a new way of doing power weapons as well as tried to do a more Ravenguard / Nightlord skin tone in preparation for a Nemesis Claw later on

Brought this one out of my pile of shame. The Dark Vengeance Helbrute. The power fist was repurposed onto another project so I used some tentacles from a Mutalith.

Excuse the photo setup. I don't have access to my usual setup for reasons.

I guess I was a bit of the opposite - I really like the highly mutated models, I just didn't like that the fulff and (especially) the rules for hellbrutes didn't really shift to match.  I've always been a big fan of the models driving the rules, but with the hellbrute looking all fleshy like that yet being the only model with that look that wasn't a daemon or having an invulnerable save, that's a huge disconnect for me.

That said, I can understand not liking (at first, or still) the mutated look - it is verdifferent and for many people isn't how they envision and/or like a chaos army.

I've been painting a lot of half squads here and there. I'm waiting until I get full squads done before I post things wholesale. I finally finished my Dark Apostle and retinue.

I dropped the Apostle during the process and he took a mortal wound, breaking his flames and maul. Which fell off again while taking the photos. I've since done some repairs which looks like it's holding.

Chalice Wardens (Homebrew DA Successor) Infernus Squad

The chapter symbol is meant to be a flaming chalice / goblet

Fixed images :)

Very nice.  Though, if you want to make the chapter symbol stand out more (and be more immediately obvious as flames), you might want to do the core of the flames in yellow.
