irlLordy
The only releases we're still waiting on for LI are the Knight and Titan battleforces which were announced almost a year ago now, August 31st 2023. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2023/08/31/heresy-thursday-crush-armies-underfoot-with-entire-battle-groups-of-pint-sized-imperial-knights-and-titans/ Mendi Warrior 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/382957-legions-imperialis-the-devastation-of-tallarn-new-models/page/6/#findComment-6057739 Share on other sites
Burni
Yay! Mini Sabres at last! Just need to decide one box or two. 16 seems a lot but I do love them. I’d like either the SM super heavies or the Mechanicum for the next expansion please! Mendi Warrior
Mechanicum would be cool. Dark Mechanicum even better imho The only releases we're still waiting on for LI are the Knight and Titan battleforces which were announced almost a year ago now, August 31st 2023. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2023/08/31/heresy-thursday-crush-armies-underfoot-with-entire-battle-groups-of-pint-sized-imperial-knights-and-titans/ True, I completely forgot about these. They were basically a repackage of the AT battleforces. Maybe we'll see them for year's end? Not holding my breath though ... The Scorpion
I wish there was a way to get the lore of these books but without the rules. DuskRaider
They’re trying to emulate the FW black books but kind of failing when it comes to the lore. It’s no where near as in depth or immersive as the old HH black books, but at least they ARE including lore and not just throwing the rules and some stock photos in and calling it a day. I still say it’s a massive swing and miss for this campaign by not including Astartes Super Heavies in the largest tank battle in history. My other concern is that from what I understand, this book covers on the early days of the Battle of Tallarn and we will have a whole other expansion covering this one battle when there are plenty of others that can and should be covered. Solar Auxilia now have what? Five Super Heavies? It’s just such an odd exclusion that it’s jarring. Especially when you take into account that this planet was anathema to infantry due to the virus bombing, but they chose to release Termites? Whose rules themselves are head scratching and don’t make too much sense IMO. Whose rules themselves are head scratching and don’t make too much sense IMO. The solar super heavies are pretty much the same chassis, I see those as the same as the Leman Russ and Sicaran variants. I'm hoping the next expansion will add the Fellblade chassis and we get some heavy marine support. (And conversely some fast attack for SA) The termites do make sense in the Tallarn setting imho: if the infantry can't go outside, going underground to enemy bases is not a bad idea. DuskRaider
True, but most Astartes Super Heavies are just Felblade variants with the exception of a couple on the Spartan chassis. Good point with the Termites! Didn’t think about that. Sky Potato
I read through the text of the book last night. Its weird that Fellblades were mentioned at least in the book but we don't have rules or models for them. LI in general and Tallarn in particular would have been ideal settings to introduce the Legion Super Heavy tanks. Missed opportunity really. Mr Farson
My theory on the marine super heavies is they're being held back until a 28mm scale one is made. A new 28m plastic superheavy is a big deal especially for marines and its the type of thing that will get hyped Noserenda 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/382957-legions-imperialis-the-devastation-of-tallarn-new-models/page/6/#findComment-6058675 Share on other sites
Sky Potato
I don't see why that would be the case. They've happily put out Rapier batteries and Dreadnought Drop Pods for LI when there's been zero indication that those models will be moving from resin to plastic. I know I'd buy multiple Super Heavies for Epic, but probably only one at 28mm scale.
