Its pretty fun for what it is. Its not going to sweep any game awards or go down as the best game of year/decade. But for a combat focused civ style game set in 40k its great!

 

Mods make it even better, and then you can sprinkly in the dlcs of your choice to make it even better.

I really like it, but it does have a bit of a learning curve.  Each faction is very distinct.  One big thing is that the world is much more hostile than Civ.  I have been wiped out several times by exploring too far too quickly.  But over all it think it is really good and I have all the DLC.
