Armor is now black.....primed. this week is super busy with wedding planning meetings, therapy for the kiddos, soccer practice and games, so not sure how much time I will have.

The infantry is almost done. Just the two characters, plasma glow, battle damage and blood spatter to go. Then onto the vehicles, these have been primed and zenithal highlighted to white. 

 

The bases need tidying up too.

Call to Arms Heresy Stronghold Update #1

 

 

We're one month in, and officially 1/3rd of the way through the Event, and this how the Stronghold looks;

 

The Emperor's Loyalists have claimed an early lead from the Warmaster's Traitors, vowing a little more than double the points, 553pts vs. 258pts, with just one more Participant. This in no small part to Sgt.Sharp, who's pledged a whopping 214pts, the largest vow of all the Strongholds by far, additionally the Loyalists have the only Completion within the Stronghold, of 12pts.

At this early stage, the points disparity is not an insurmountable amount for The Traitors, a few more Participants, and a few completions and

subsequent re-vows could quickly see that gap diminish.

I think I shall give an update here, because I see others have done so, Pics will be uploaded on Saturday, but long and short of it is that I have finished my 28mm Malcador, got 90% of the way on my 28mm Russes, finished my Aetheon Sentinels, dubbed fridge squadron, and am about 70% of the may done on the LI tanks with the exception of the Hellhammers, which are just basecoated, as are the infantry

Ok time for another vow - my second for Heresy.

I’m not able to discuss all the things I’ll be painting but they are models that I have now. I judge that the [REDACTED] things are worth 1 point each.

Kratos tanks. I made on with a flag from the infantry sprue - my first (incredibly basic) LI conversion!

 

Land Raiders. 

 

These two Sicarans aren’t part of the vow as they’re too far along already. They show you the kind of thing I’m aiming for. I do intend to finish them in the time period so that I can run 8. I’ve magnetised the turrets. 

 

I love building these little kits. Let’s hope painting them is as much fun. 
 

I haven’t included any infantry by the way, as they’re already in a WIP state. I do intend to get them painted one day!

A bit of progress to report - not as much as I’d have liked, but some.

 

Here are two and a bit of my Socarans. Two of these don’t count because I’d already done most of the hulls but two hulls and the turrets are new. 

 

 

You can read a review of the kit on Goonhammer. To be honest it’s pretty much what you’d expect: the original hull with a couple of new turrets. 
 

I’ve also done my first of seven Kratos. This one is a command tank, so here it is leading my new Sicaran Arcus. 
 

 

I’m finding these kits take longer to paint than I’d expected. I’ve got my work cut out here!

So, I'm not a million miles away from my vow. Most of it is done. Just the railings and boarding action walls/columns (about halfway through) and the rampagers and apothecary (trim and details) to do. 

 

I'm hoping to get them done before the next update but I may run out of time.

A bit of progress to report, with more stuff built. 
 

here are my remaining four Sicarans. 
 

 

Here are a couple of [redacted]. I’ve now built all eight of these, with two different load-outs. The original four will be imperial Fists but I think I might do four as white scars to go with my as-yet unbuilt sky-hunter phalanx. 
 

 

I’ve also built 4/8 of the [redacted]. There aren’t any options with these and I’ll do them all as Imperial Fists. 
 

My land raiders are also now ready to paint but I’m a bit unsure what colour to do them. Red and yellow are the options. My army is siege-defending Fists, blood angels and white scars, maybe with some remnants of other legions. The land raiders would make more sense carrying blood angels but then I’d have to have a whole other formation of them. Taking them as Fists might make more sense as then I could add four bases of termies to a core formation and have them ride around in my six raiders.

Hello heresy painters!

 

I'm holding an unofficial painting event as a side event to the Chaos Call to Arms 2024 stronghold - the most Psycheriest Psycher.  Thinking about it, there's really no reason that the pro-heresy painters here couldn't throw their own model into the ring, so I welcome any of the Chaos painters here to submit their own psycher to the event.

 

Given that I'm not familiar with the various rulesets covered by this Stronghold and wouldn't recognize a psycher in them until they bonked me with his force staff (if they have such a thing), I'll be reliant on you guys to let me know what qualifies so I can enter it.  You can do so by messaging me or by putting @Dr_Ruminahui (so @ followed immediately by my user name - you then click my name from the pop up dropdown menu) in a post here with the suitable instructions.
