I, Wormwoods, heed the Call to Arms for the third time and pledge to paint 3 Stealthsuits, 3 Crisis Battlesuits, a converted Ethereal, and a converted Cadre Fireblade for 19 points for the Glory of the T'au Empire's Ky'Vash Recon Cadre and the Xenos Stronghold on or before 17th September 2024, or bear the badge of failure until years end. 

 

Master of the Forge Entries - Both models have been fully assembled for photographs, thus the blutac.

 

Ethereal - Built from the current ethereal kit, pathfinder components, and some spare Ghostkeel parts.

 

Cadre Fireblade - Built from a printed Stealthsuit torso, and components from the pathfinder, striker/breacher, and actual Cadre Fireblade kit.

 

 

Remaining models still in-box. Not doing any drones this time, need a break from painting discs, and this puts me at a nice, almost-even 76 point total.

Aaaand, we're finally done and the vow is complete! I must admit I got sidetracked a bit, as I recently acquired a copy of 3rd edition Talisman, which we've played and painted up (most of). I had moved on mentally from these guys, so it was kind of a chore to finish them, but luckily the knowledge that I was part of something greater (and would have to wear the mark of shaaaame if I didn't finish them...), as well as my GFs assistance and discipline won through in the end!

Thanks! To be honest I almost despaired and gave up, probably because I didn't have something in mind for them like with my previous vow of Daemons (that I was going to use for a game on a specfic day). So there's another lesson learned: be sure to at least have the illusion of a deadline (and make sure it's something you'll enjoy).

Next up is a vow of Necromunda stuff - probably in the Imperium stronghold.

Working on my Doom Scythe. Getting the turquoise layered on the big flat panels has taken more time then I thought, but once that is complete most of the work seems simple

Call to Arms Xenos Stronghold Update #2

 

Two Months down, one to go. It is time for everyone to start wrapping up their Vows, and securing your points, especially those on subsequent vows.

 

The Necrons have surged forward with 219pts vowed, and 141pts completed, overtaking the Tau for the top spot in the Xenos Stronghold.

Having slipped to second, the Tau Empire follows, with 237pts pledged and 57pts completed, it is the lack of completions that is the difference here.

Following the Necrons lead, the Orks with 94pts vowed, have scrambled to third by completing 64pts of models. 

The Genestealer Cults remain at 44pts pledged, but have managed to complete 38pts of models, bring them up into fourth place.

Although the Tyranids have more pledged pts, 123pts, than the Orks or Genestealer Cults, their lack of any completions sees them drop to the fifth

position in the Stronghold.

Aeldari are currently in sixth position with 58pts pledged, and a single Xenos Pledge from the Other Games Forum for 5pts, both with no completions.

 

Although we appear to have a two-horse race at the front, appearances can be decieving, and I wouldn't count out the other Forums just yet.....

Just a quick update as I near the end of my final vow! Just have one battlesuit, the battlesuit weapons, and all the bases left to do! Plenty of time. 

 

 

As an aside, @Grotsmasha, assuming your keyboard is working/replaced, I wasn't sure if my two little Master of the Forge entries had been tagged correctly.

Hmm Spoiler thing missing, saw an error report about it but sorry for the image space if the manual spoiler bracketing doesn't work.
Any how! Two more Necrons complete. My 3rd royal warden, and 3rd plasmancer for my list. This one is my general and has the Dimensional Sanctum enhancement so I wanted to make him special (Definitely not just because of the master of the forge part of the call to arms. >.> <.< Definitely).
Any way Master of the Forge entry, He's made of a technomancer main body, plasmancer staff and some royal warden arm decorations. And using some firm plastic from a bit of packaging and a decal, he now has a fun little floating screen.
Vow almost done. Just Illuminator Szeras to go.

After buying some contrast paints and undercoating the beast back in June I did nothing until the weekend just gone. I think I'll darken the carapace to better distinguish them from the more fleshy areas.

These Kroot where the last batch I had to finish off, I was intending to add a few more miniatures to the vow, but with a few busy weeks and a holiday abroad coming up , thought I should call it  with just completing my original Vow. I'm pleased I managed to complete them all with time to spare and got a lot of grey plastic off my desk.

had great fun doing this, and cleared a fair bit of back log, according to my excel spreadsheet trying to keep track of my miniature my painted percent is now up to 92.8% and closing in on numbering 2K.

THIRD VOW COMPLETE

 

 

3 Crisis Suits, 3 Stealth Suits, and my two Master of the Forge entries, a Cadre Fireblade and an Ethereal.

 

 

It's been a long road, but we got there, and with time to spare! It's been fun, I've really enjoyed having the CtA as a prompt to focus in on a project, and it's made sure I'm ready for my next Crusade with 955 points of finished Tau to go with the 300-odd I had before starting my vows. 

 

I need to clean those base rims.
