Well I haven't been entirely idle...  Not much above it but there has been some forward momentum.  I am still struggling with major hobby burn out and lack of motivation from a few months back but I just need to get myself moving.

 

Anyway, here is where I am at:

2x Characters done.    They almost look like they are about to drop some pretty sick beats here or something.  Anyway, I now need to batch paint the hell out of the rest of this Imperium vow so wish me god speed here guys.  I also better get my own blog back going.  Two sick kids not sleeping at the moment as well as work is taking what little joy I have in life and stomping on it, but I think I might just try to use this vow as my escape.

Call to Arms Imperium Stronghold Update #1

 

 

We're one month in, and officially 1/3rd of the way through the Event, and this how the Stronghold looks;

 

Unsurprisingly, the Angels of Death, the Adeptus Astartes have convincingly claimed top spot within the Stronghold, with 15 Participants vowing 528pts, and having a 5pt Completion, it will be a hard fight for any of the other Imperium Forums to claw a victory from the Astartes.

Coming in second place is The Imperium of Mankind with 128pts from 3 Participants, closely followed by the Imperial Knights, with 122pts and 2 Participoants. Next in line is the Astra Militarum Forum, with 4 Participants pledging 98pts.

Next up, with have the Adepta Sororitas with 70pts from a single Participant. Hot on the heels of the Sisters, bringing up the rear, we have the Adeptus Mechanicus with 69pts, also froma single Participant.

At this early stage, the points disparity is not an insurmountable amount for most of the Forums, a few more Participants, and a few completions and

subsequent re-vows could quickly see the gap diminish. Although completing the most models is almost certainly secured by the Astartes, the Challenge for the coveted 100% Completion Award is still quite achieveable for the other Forums.

Finished the librarian, though I feel like I can already see areas I want to touch up. Will get started on the squads and batch painting now, looking forward to getting to paint more of the black and yellow scheme. I think I’ve decide to go with red bolters moving forward as well.

Brutus Purgato walks! Only in death does duty end!

 

 

Pretty intense model tbh. Randomly assigned to Subjugators, and then named for Brutus, mythological founder (?) and namesake of Britain, and 'Purgato' or 'The Cleaner' for the Subjugator's basic MO: extreme violence and obliteration of the enemy.

 

 

And a quick detail shot of knees - I still need to clean up the metallics and some other stuff on the bottom of the hull, and obviously the basing. All told, a successful week-ish, but also one where I think building this guy was a major factor in developing some ulnar tendonitis that is now limiting me to max 1h hobby per day.

Quick update before the weekend

 

Airbrush went brrrr tonight, got all these reds knocked out in ~2 hrs or so. Hoping Saturday night I can move the first batch of termies + a character or two to the liquid mask + reapplication of black stage
