What is The Call to Arms, I hear you ask?

 

The Call to Arms is a new multi-forum event designed to encourage us all to start a new army, or bolster our current armies.

 

The Forums of the B&C are divided up into four Strongholds; Imperium, Chaos, Xenos, and Heresy.  For the next three months the Loyalists and Traitors of the Heresy Stronghold will be competing to claim Victory over the other Heresy Faction, with all four Strongholds being compared at the conclusion of the Event.

There are two categories for Victory in both the Forums and Strongholds, the Forum/Stronghold who has painted the most points worth of models, and the Forum/Stronghold with the highest % of completion (Participants vs Completions).

How do I join in?

 

Models for The Call to Arms have been allocated a point value based around their size, the time they take to paint, and the amount of effort generally taken to paint them, this is why some models of different sizes appear in the same categories, and why Characters are worth more.

*I am super unfamiliar with the Aeronautica Craft, so please let me know if there need to be more points gradings for the different Aircraft*

 

Note: Custom/Scratchbuilt terrain- use this list as a guide as to how many points tour terrain is worth, but please make sure to mention your terrain is custom when Vowing.

 

 

All points are per model. For example if you pledge 20 Legionaires (1ptx20), 3 Outriders (2ptsx3), a Javelin (3pts), and a Praetor (5pts), your vow would be worth 34pts

So, it may just be me supporting the traitor cause however, here's my CtA vow;

I'm joint running a local slow grow event. It started in June. Because I'm being tight, I'm using CSM models that have sat in my pile of shame for ages to represent a weaters force at the siege of terra. This will ultimately ally with my dark mech force I've very nearly completed. 

 

I've got more to add to the above but this will see me through for a while.

Progress so far - jetbikes assembled (very barebones, their shape is so weird i didn't know where to place trophies or spikes), everything primed and base coated and currently at various stages of dry brushing:

 

Quite happy with the predators now that I see them in colour. They may not be Heresy predators strictly speaking but the trio of assembled baals was less $ than what a new deimos would cost... Just needed some tinkering, rummaging through old bits and we got a Nostramo pattern Predator - and I think the random assortment of weapons and adorments suits the legion.

Now I've almost finished painting some ZM terrain I've managed to make some progress on the weaters. Reds and blues blocked in. I've done the trim on some termies too but not pictured.

Some progress. Deredeo plasma guns WIP and my isstvan terrain is looking grim.

The trim is now done. Took like 4 days to do. The termies just need skin/faces doing then the white needs shading. All bases and weather/battle damage/blood effects will be fine at the same time.

My new vow. At the beginning of the year I vowed to paint all of my terrain. This continues and thought I might as well add it to a CtA vow. 

 

I'm making a ZM board for a heresy slow grow event I'm jointly running. All of this will be added to it.
