I'm fairly certain you've misinterpreted my post. I didn't say it would someone's first model, referring instead to the concept of "beginner" which can include people who have painted for even several years.

If you'd like to discuss the virtue of off topic discussion regarding the merits of representation, it would be best to raise a report for the mod team to discuss, or raise it with an Admin directly via PM.

This topic is not the place to dispute moderator direction as it is not on topic by definition to do so.

I do think the model will be a tough one to paint for a beginner painter. Getting the flames on the sword right would be crucial as it's a central piece.

Wonder if the model will come with an option for an unlit sword, or how easy it would be to replace the sword. Like you say, that part will definitely stand out and it would be nice if there was an option for people who might not be skilled enough or inclined enough to make it work.

Or perhaps even ~30 years? Although I personally do not know anyone, including myself, who would fit that bill.

It's a cool model to go alongside a BL book for promo and I think its quite a cool design idea. The flames making the shape of the Fleur is quite nice.

If I were a SoB player I might consider this model but personally going to pass since I ain't but for those who get it, I hope you have fun with it!

I know I was definitely a "beginner" in painting skill until the past 4 years ago or so, so what's that 31 years?

The fire sword would be tough to pull off for many, though I'd like a go actually. I'm getting better at flames for sure.

Well, She's just gone up to pre-order https://warhammer-community.com/2024/08/10/saturday-pre-orders-purge-the-mutant-the-heretic-and-the-alien/

With an interesting development, Apparently her rules have gone straight to Legends: https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/qJFQVgjBzi9EkLFX.pdf

A part of me wonders if this might be perhaps a method by which GW is attempting to encourage a wider acceptance of Legends rules outside of specific events. Between This model, and the still in production Eisenhorn, if a trend of special characters going directly to legends continues, more and more people will be looking to use the rules, just to keep using models, especially current ones like this and Eisenhorn.

Granted, if they really want people to keep using Legends rules then they should be on the App, as well as promising a simple housekeeping pass over to keep them roughly in line with their respective codices.

..and already Sold Out Online. I don;'t understand the point of making a new sprue and then doing such a tiny run.

Produced enough to cover the cost of production and turn a profit, as standard. She'll likely cycle back into production when there's space x time in the mould room for her mould to be re-run.

It's most likely the same production line that does stuff like the store anniversary/Warhammer+ models, probably a specialized line that only does a few thousand models per run and then moves on to the next limited edition model.

Glad I was able to secure two in the end then. Love the model and want to paint her as a display piece, but also want the bitz for kitbashing a few Bloody Rose characters when I actually get round to Sisters.

It was odd for it to not be MTO I thought. I have a feeling the last few limited releases (Grombrindal for example or the Gobbo at Christmas) have all been MTO but I could well be confusing Limited with Black Library model releases.  Nearly missed out on her due to not paying attention but managed to snag one.

Rules wise legends isn't a shock.  GW caught quite a bit of flack for producing limited edition models a while ago with mainline rules.  If you started a faction (or the hobby) after that point you were locked out from that model and those rules.  In reality of course you could kitbash but particularly if you are new that's not a great look for GW.  So GW reacted and started making Limited edition models with either Legends or no rules (Ripper Jackson is just a Guard Sargent despite base size discrepancy).

Grombrindal was definitely MTO, you can still order him for November on some places. The Black Library models generally stuck around for a while, I think Severnia Raine was the only one who upped and vanished (until Eisenhorn) and she was still around for at least a year or so iirc.

It is certainly strange that Aveline was neither advertised as a limited stock model, nor they did they do an MTO offering for her. Then again we've seen some 'While Stock Lasts' items like the Legions Imperialis cards sell out quickly and GW decided to make them a regular item, so maybe this will be similar? Particularly with how fast she vanished.

"Buy our models!"

"You cannot use them in competitive games!"

Seriously GW?
