Dreadnought favourite build-ups

I have now my two Claws of Dreads,for my SoH, completely done, with all the possible weapon options to use on them. But I felt curious, and I want ask you this?

Which is/are you favourite/s build-up/s for a Dreadnought? Specially, Contemptor class Dreads.

Mine are ranged weapons as Laser canons or multi Meltas, with a close combat weapon with combi bolter o heavy Flamer in built. I like to use them as a polivalent unit, but a bit focused in targeting and destroying tanks, because they can move and shoot, so they can find better an easy angle to do it. And, if it's necessary, they can charge and destroy targets in close combat. For full close combat I like more Leviathans.

 

Something similar with Castraferrum type, ranged weapon arm  plus close combat arm, but I must confess that I didn't use a "box-dread" in a long time. And I never used, still,a Deredeo.

 

So, tell me: What are your favourite or favorites? Any counsel?

Same. I feel like Box naughts and contemptors need melee and range (my 40k gk dreads do not as I need the range) . I have an under performing autocannon/ plasma blaster fist contemptor that is probably user error and my next contemptor is gonna be Las flamer/ fist. 3rd one no clue yet…melta/ stormbolter/ fist probably. My eventual Levi is getting set up for melee.

Loadout:

Gravis Lascannon, Power fist with graviton gun and havoc missile launcher.

 

Role:

Bodyguard for 20-man Tac Squad in deployment zone (Head of the Gorgon Rite of War). In the first turns he can use the lascannon on ranged targets and later he can protect the Tac squad from close combat opponents. I like to add options to my vehicles/walkers so the missile launcher had to be added too. As dreadnought pilots are only chosen from legendary warriors a custom rule of mine for dreads is that they have in-built "Split Fire" perk.

I really like the idea of a shoulder mounted Havoc Launcher. Nice, very nice indeed.

Really depends on the role within the list. 

My two that are set are my IW Lascannon plasma fist who strolls around the backfield looking for flank shots at range. In my Night lords drop list I have one with Multimelta and meltafist. 

 

I am still not set on my Dark Angels since I havent finished writing my list. I have the Plasmanator dread which is my favorite but I am thinking and being told I have too much plasma in the list so I am painting up an old Betrayal of Calth monopose with multi-melta, plasma fist, and havoc for a general purpose dread.

And what about Leviathans? I'm thinking to add another one, the box with only ranged weapons. I have one full close combat, and probably that's enough. But I'm not sure.

It worths have a full ranged or two mixed,or two full close combat?

I love all dreadnoughts, the more, the better. Contemptor's for me are the pinnacle, love their look and feel, and I love the classic powerfist and assault cannon combo. Sorry, my advice isn't great rules wise.

Iron Clad's are so great,  I'm still angry GW discontinued them.

Right there with you. Literally two months or so after I finished a really nice paint scheme on a brand new one along with a dreadnought drop pod to deliver it.  Grrr

That must be really frustrating! I've got a few but I want more to round my numbers out.

 

I love the Contemptor, it feels quite humanoid to me, an upscale Marine almost.

Here are two I got in a trade, I am showing them as they are some of my favourite weapon combos. 

The double power fist to me is just boss and Volkite is just nasty.
