If I'm being honest, the background's making it a bit difficult to read the outline of the model (it's a bit too busy/detailed).

I did think that myself too. I’m experimenting with these prints currently as tonal inspiration. I’ll take a photo on a white or black background later

I didn't want to say it, but, while I really like the models, I am loving the wood-cutty background images.

The first one was fine, but the second one is too in focus and makes it hard to distinguish the guard on the sword due to the way it interacts with the pattern behind. If you can throw the background out of focus a bit more, or light the model so it makes the background darker, then it would address the issue without changing the background.
