I did think that myself too. I’m experimenting with these prints currently as tonal inspiration

The first one was fine, but the second one is too in focus and makes it hard to distinguish the guard on the sword due to the way it interacts with the pattern behind. If you can throw the background out of focus a bit more, or light the model so it makes the background darker, then it would address the issue without changing the background.

I really like the Janus Draik-based conversion

Thanks! It’s almost a sacrilege to chop him up, but I love how a simple hand and head swap seems to change his character so much

It is very well done and amazing

Is the base of the model with a hammer a Cities of Sigmar model?

It’s the (I think) limited edition witch hunter family. Sorry I don’t remember their actual names. The non limited version is also amazing

Really loving the conversions here! That local Lord is amazing!

Thanks so much.

unrelated to the project above is a test colour scheme for some ultramarines done on a spare trench crusade mini I had. I want them to be less baroque and more like this

Oooh that is fantastic! How'd you achieve this effect?

Thank you.

I mixed up a blue I liked between Vallejo deep sky blue and dark Prussian blue and slathered it on. I deliberately don’t fully mix the paint so I get different shades all over the mini. Then I dry brush with the sky blue and shade with the Prussian blue.
Then I chuck AK brown black ink over the whole thing and wipe it off with a damp tissue.

next I use Vallejo liquid silver on some raised parts

i use the same ink again in places for some extra grime

base with ak wet ground and use it for weathering too.

the white is just applied with masking tape and a sponge and then weathered

Thanks so much! I wish I could work out how to change the name of the thread

You should be able to click-and-hold the thread title to go into edit mode (I think editing the first post also allows you to change the title). If that doesn't work, feel free to PM me and I'll do it
