Best Archon build?

I've converted the Warhammer+ Vampire into an Archon, and according to the data card it can have either a Splinter Pistol or Blast Pistol, which is the optimal load-out? The only reason it matters is at some point in the future the model will probably end up on eBay and optimal loadouts sell better/quicker.

I think the consensus is Blast Pistol. Having an extra Blaster shot can be pretty clutch and just the one Splinter Pistol shot doesn't often come up

I would only go splinter if I was planning to use a piece of wargear that replaces one, or if I had a poison leaning army and planned to take the poison upgrades presented in Crusade. We don't know if those poison upgrades will be reprinted for 10E Crusade- odds are good, because GW has duplicated a lot of the good Crusade stuff from 9E, but there are no guarantees.

 

Blaster is the better option if you're looking for optimization to sell on EBay, because the factors that make the splinter work better are pretty niche.

So just a few months later, I've actually put brush to model,

 

I'm REALLY happy with the finished model, and I'm going to hold on to it a bit, give it some prime-time on the display shelf.

I'd also go blaster unless there's a very specific reason to have splinter. Like inferno pistols, they're too good to pass up.
