Welcome to part four of the Blood Angels Unit of the Week series!

 
Following the release of the 10th edition Index, there is no better time to discuss all the units we have access to. Each week a different unit will appear, with the idea being that we discuss how best to use that model on the battlefield. Where part one will discuss the units from the units found within Index: Blood Angels, parts two to four will discuss Index: Space Marines, part five will be Imperial Armour, and part six will be Legends.
 
Note, this isn't to lament any nerfs, etc, from previous editions; the rules are as they are so try to unlock its potential for those who wish to use them all the same. Similarly, this thread is only for using the option being discussed; it matters not if you feel something is a better choice as such comments aren't constructive to the topic and shall be removed.

What are you thoughts here folks? How best would you play a Predator Destructor?

  • To compliment a list, or to build a list around?

As an aside, the thread setup may change over the coming weeks until I'm happy with them. This includes the photos.

The Destructor is a slightly under-rated unit IMHO that actually provides a good answer to some of the popular units in the meta. The Autocannon hits at S9, AP-2 and 3D against Infantry with 4 shots (or 6 within 24"). That is quite effective at clearing Terminators, Custodians and Mega Nobz. At AP-2, even the Heavy Bolters become quite effective at mowing down MEQs. At 130 points for T10, it is quite affordable and mobile too.

If Bully Boyz hadn't just been nuked from orbit, I think you would see a lot of these guys, but they're still a solid hull for the price to hunt elite infantry, getting a decent quantity of multi damage AP-2 is something marines don't get much of actually, especially flat 3 damage.

It never let me down, when I took one to the table. As mentioned the autocannon and heavy bolters can do some work. Like any good rhino chassi you also have the hunter killer missile and a storm bolter to spray some shots around. Most of the time it wasn't the priority target for my enemies, which is probably the reason why the destructor was able to shine in the first place.
