Brother Raul
Hi All, Both a post for my own learning and a little hack I found. I've found citadel flying bases both cheap and suitable to cut down. Have included a photo of both a glued trimmed stem (hate the casting bubble) and a drilled pegged stem. Little worried about how strong the trimmed and glued base will be as it's got to handle a lot of weight at that point but the drilled and pegged bases are super easy and don't even need glue so won't ruin your paint job. Brother Raul
Forgot to mention that I also drilled the foot up into the calf for the top peg. Don't even need glue for that but have to file/ shave down the peg a bit to fit the biggest citadel dremel. Any comments or feed back greatly welcome. Firedrake Cordova
Looks like quite a pragmatic solution I'd imagine the strength should be fine - those pegs were used to support the old metal Carrion and BFG battleship models Brother Raul 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/383270-flying-modelling-for-jump-troops/#findComment-6050022 Share on other sites
Marshal Mittens
2mm brass rod painted black works well. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/383270-flying-modelling-for-jump-troops/#findComment-6052892 Share on other sites
Grotsmasha
I wouldn't worry about the peg snapping, Drukhari Raiders are mounted on them and they hold the weight just fine.
