Literally the only thing they need to do to reduce this anxiety around data-sheet inclusion is to allow Imperium allies from a single other army up to like 25% of points when you choose 'Agents Detachment'. There's definitely like 75% of a list to be made based on what's been shown, but I do think that allowing some support units (basically big guns and vehicles) to be cherrypicked from other lists would be amazing.

As it is, it looks to me like the list will be hard to make a proper 2k detachment out of. They seem set on Agents as either the majority or the minority in a list, which is fine as far as it goes I guess, but it's super annoying to lose out on the diverse ally rules as soon as I actually commit to an Agents detachment. They could even do something like for daemon allies and force a 1:1 battleline to other limitation, but it'd be nice to have DW killteams, Sororitas and Grey Knights units bought from the 'parent detachment' count for the purpose of allies restrictions as well.

As an example: if I take an Agents Detachment, I can't take a dreadnought, even though I'll still have 2-4 DW teams, and it would make abundant sense for that number of teams to have at least 1 support vehicle hanging around other than their Corvus IMO. Why can't I take a unit of Vanguard Veterans for each regular DW kill team in my Agents detachment? My friendly opponents will let me use the dreadnought, and I suppose I could sprinkle the jump packs across all the units to make another kill team or 2, but the really interesting lists to me would be ones with 75% Agents and 25% other stuff rather than the other way around.

The final big annoyance is that when I go to make my 'marines list featuring deathwatch', I can't also take many/any other Agents units because I top out at 2 units of actual DW vets, who are then taking up ally unit slots that I would otherwise want to use for a couple Arbites or whatever. I could proxy most of my DW well enough as just Sternguard in that situation, but that feels terrible.

I know we don't know much about this 'dex as yet. I'm excited for it, but I'm also cautious, and I think I'm likely to be asking friendly opponents for a few accommodations to add some diversity to the deathwatch roster at any rate (basically to allow my 2x5 vanguard and dreadnought to take part even if they can't have detachment rules for... reasons).

Cheers,

The Good Doctor.

Does new Coteaz look off to anyone else? I can't put my finger on it

The joint between his legs and crotch area is too large. Its too much sloped upwards creating a 80ies bikini look for optical longer legs

There is a lot of detail and intricacy to these rules- obviously the Warcom article is a summary, and there it's a little difficult to follow, but I can't wait to read the book. It's obvious that they put some effort into it, and it sounds good from what we can see. I hope its released soon. I think it was slotted to be released before Blood Angels, and they've started making noise about them too, so it shouldn't be too long.

Nice! Still undecided on the box sets but I'll be picking up the codex for sure as well as the boarding action book. Glad they are coming out together, works really well for my plan of building a boarding action focused IA force.

Edit: Just spotted the combat patrol (scrolled right past it the first time). This is actually really good for my plans and I can confidently forgo any of the other sets, plus since it's a combat patrol I don't need to worry about picking it up right away. I'll also be keeping an eye up for Coteaz on ebay, hopefully the general derision of the model will means it's easy available and on the cheaper side.

I really want to see what our anti tank and anti monster units will be.

27 datasheets cover Inquisitors, Imperial Breachers, Adeptus Astartes, Assassins, Deathwatch units, and other Imperial servants.

Wow that’s a lot of data sheets but only four detachments. Navy appears to be led by a rogue trader.

The LE Codex has been given a really rough photoshop of the classic Witch Hunters cover art, not sure why they cut it up like that. Looks really rough and does a disservice to the (awesome) original artwork. I also notice they cut it off so the almost-naked Repentia is out of the frame. I guess a man being burned alive is fine but female skin is too much?

Poor Artemis has been in and out of production so much he's gotten whiplash

That's what he gets for shooting Eldrad and stopping the ritual that could have ended Slaanesh.

Seriously though, I rip on Artemis and the DW for this all the time, but I suppose from an Imperial perspective, they couldn't really know whether Ynnead would be any better than Slaanesh, and so I guess I could cut him some slack, and maybe even forgive him enough to put him one the painting table.

But happy this is coming soon. Of all the boxes... and I do like them all- the Daemon Hunter has the most in it that I want. I've got the GK from the Hexfire set, so the Terminators would really grow that force; my Krieg KT could use a ride, and I only have one set of Hench, which means I can't make ALL the options.

Trouble is, I'm aggressively trying to pay down a credit card right now, and I think the book is as much as I can do.

Why is the navy detachment led by a rouge trader:facepalm:

Imperial navy commanders are for the next release, clearly.

Let's just hope people go wild for this so they don't shelf it for 2 editions again.

Because they are part of her navy of course.

No they are not:tongue:

I would expect rookies and newbies to associate rouge traders with the navy:tongue:

Till 11th edition when DW get primarifed of course...

DW are likely, but GK are already Marines+1. I just hope the eventual GK refresh starts with terminators, the only armour for the warriors of Titan in my book.
