Helbrechts_Sword_Servitor
Another win for the Emperor against the overgrown roaches. Yesterday I played a 1.5k match agains Tyranids, using Pariah Nexus missions. The missions rolled gave 4 or 8 VPs for holding objectives, and 4 or 8 VPs for killing units. He played Vanguard Onslaught, bringing (don't trust me on this, to me they all look the same): Winged Hive Tyrant with Scything Talons Deathleaper (?) Tyrannofex with rupture cannon 10 Genestealers with Broodlord 10 Genestealers with Broodlords Neurolictor 2 Lictors Warriors with Winged Tyranid Prime 6 Zoanthropes and Neurotyrant I brought: Techmarine + Target Augury Web Culexus Assassin 5x Intercessor Squad 5x Devastator Squad: Lascannon, Sergeant: Grav-pistol, Power Fist 5x Incursor Squad Suppressor Squad Ballistus Dreadnought Leviathan Dreadnought [Legends]: 3x Hunter-killer missile, Cyclonic melta-lance, Storm cannon, 2x Twin volkite caliver Predator Destructor: Armoured Tracks, Hunter Killer Missile, Predator Autocannon, 2x Heavy Bolter Redemptor Dreadnought: Macro Plasma Incinerator, Heavy Flamer Vindicator: Hunter Killer Missile Razorback: Hunter Killer Missile I had never played 'Nids before, and I had never used Ironstorm, so this was a whole new game for me. I admit being a little bit of an ass and bringing a Culexus, but I have all them assassins painted up from the "Assassinorum Execution Force", so it was a "no-brainer" (pun intended). The game went well, and my battle plan worked. The main surprise for me was how quick his units got to me. It was jarring to see them running up and hitting my tanks. However, he didn't expect the Vindicator to shoot back in melee. I shot everything to pieces, sometimes clearing units from the objectives before they could score. The Tyrannofex was surprising, but between popping smoke and his bad rolls, he landed just one shot the whole game. The Lictors and Deathleapers were a nuisance, and I should have been more energetic against them. Luckily I landed most of my Hunter Killer Missiles, clearing the "Nerd Squad" (Zoanthropes and Neurotyrant) before they could shoot... Even the Devastators cooked one of them with a lascannon.
