It's $60 for a regular new Xbox controller, those are $160. You're paying $100 for a skin. Definitely a huge rip off.

but I think it's worth giving context to why it looks bad by looking at novelty controller designs that were much more successful:

Heck, even the recently announced transparent controller is a great example of a more appealing novelty.

The controllers are actually fine ,I don’t think little kids would worry too much (big kids probably will) , it’s the $100 markup which isn’t fine…

The price is a bit of a shocker, imo. I would happily have paid an extra 20 for the unique controllers, but nearly 3x the cost is excessive.

Orion's examples are really illustrative. There's a huge difference between actual thoughtful design and just... grabbing a random piece of pre-existing key art and slapping it onto the controller. 

 

Not that there'd be any chance of me getting this anyway, I use an Elite. If I'm going to pay through the nose for a controller I might as well get a good one.
