Best way to fix model on base without glueing?

Hello mates! I'm waiting for my basing materials but wan't to start paint the models, what the best way to fix model on base for priming ang painting without glueing it?

Double sided tape, or blu-tac (poster putty) on a bottle cap or some such

Best way I have found is to pin it - small hole through the base into the foot and superglue together or you can then stick the pin into a cork and paint the model. the model easily detaches from the base, after you're done with the base, you drill a small hole again and reattach the model - I believe this is what GW do.
