People cried about the current CP not being ‘blood angely’ but claimed the DA CP was better for BA why? Because it had inceptors.

when that’s the only thing you’ve got you’ve got nothing.

if we firstborn-ified our CP box it would be

librarian

Rhino

terminators

tactical squad

scouts(?)sure still no jump packs but is someone really going to say that terminators, and a librarian aren’t blood angely enough? And with the old OC’d engines rule the rhino is very blood angely.

This whole thread is now giving

“bUt ThE cOdEx AsTaRtEs sAyS….” Ah type of energy.

can you give it a rest now people? I don’t think anyone really cares, it’s fluffy, it’s themed, it’s nice to have a bit of flavour in an edition seriously lacking in it, irrelevant of how lore accurate or not it is.

The lore is what gives armies their flavor…

You've clearly never read the detachment Strats.

Oh yeah the one that lets you pop out and shoot…my bad. One strat doesn’t make the detachment a transport themed detachment.

Firestorm has nothing that benefits vehicles.

its a footslogging short range shooting detachment.

gladius, again, nothing that benefits transports in any real way.

but again we had OC’d engines on our rhino chassis transports, and now that’s only on the Baal.

Are you looking for a detachment that specifically benefits transports and non-transport vehicles at the same time?

I just want a detachment that gives us our overcharged engines as widely available as they used to be.

i think it was the Baal, and the razorback and rhino.

so now id like it if impulsors, baals, and maybe gladiator reapers got them.

maybe some sort of disembark and charge strat for the impulsors.

a detachment that gives people a reason to use something other than jump troops, to close the distance quickly, and still have somewhat lore accurate to BA.

Unfortunately too much of the BA’s old flavor steps on the toes of too many other chapters.

edit

I don’t have the models for it, but maybe stormlance would scratch that itch.

You have that one, the one where it's the opposite and you embark, the one where your infantry get a bonus to hit for disembarking (which I argue goes to supporting vehicles still), and of course who can forget Redeemers and that nice Immolation Protocols?

Any mobility related buff will be better on jump infantry.

Not really. Being able to Advance D6" and fire/charge is going to have a bigger percentage benefit on slower moving units. Quite often Units with a move of 12" won't need any extra movement to get to grips with the enemy. Particularly if you are playing on official table sizes.

@Inquisitor_Lensoven go easy on the multiposing. You posted 8 times in a row, broken only with one comment. I've merged some as to not disrupt the topic format too much.

Am I the only person who really likes the new Sanguinary Guard models?

Would have been even better if there were 5 per box.

I like them too, there's things I'll change, but broadly speaking I think they're really good. I also think I can mix and match a bit with captain parts to make some more poses etc and probably also get a jump captain out of them eventually

I like them, but i'm old enough to remember the tail of 1st, and through 2nd into early 3rd, when the height of chapter specific bling was a winged blood drop on the chest for anyone bar a special special character like Dante and Mephiston, the only bit i'd change on the new kit is painting the eye lenses and maybe try a marble style deathmask to break up the block of gold

Honestly the fact combat patrol comes with 6 means you buy that and probably never a set on their own lol

For even more assault intercessors! Sing me the chainsword serenade!

I honestly plan to paint a serious batch of DC Marines. Even if it's super rare to see so much DC at once I guess it will be fun.

I’m most likely going to buy 2x CP

I need 12 SG and 2 BA captains.

I just don’t need an extra 20 assault intercessors, but all the upgrade sprues is NICE!

Nah they're pretty good.

However I'm of the mindset I like limited squad sizes for honour guard equivalent units. 3-6 for a squad would be fine if it weren't for the fact GW didn't charge a kidney for them.

The squad size is whatever.

The helmets are atrocious.

Buy some third party jump packs and paint some as DC

I like the Stormcast-esque helmets and that they're significantly less decorated. You can always add bling to a model, but it's a harder time to remove it if it's molded on already.

I'm not interested in BA at all so feel free to ignore my opinion, but with the SG it's glaringly obvious GW designs one marine, and then reposes it a few times to make a squad. Like aside from the weapons, pouches on the belt of one guy, and purity seals you used to add yourself anyway, the entire squad is exactly the same unless you use bare heads or kitbash.

It strikes me as incredibly lazy sculpting. I miss the days when you could make unique marines straight from the box - it made them feel like "your" marines, and better represented the lore of them each being an individual with personalised armour.
