Ratlings would be really nice to see, it's feels like they've been on the verge of getting an update ever since Blackstone Fortress. I wonder if it would be the Ratling sprue(s) alongside a couple of the existing Ogryn sprues or all new Ogryns too. Sprues with both on? In any casse as with auxiliaries in Tau it's always nice to see abhumans get some attention.

If they make it a 3 ogryn and 5 ratings that feels about right for KT as well as right for 40k.

My guess is that ammo box we saw with a pie in it will have something to do with Ratlings, and maybe that bullet ridden wall. Perhaps the smaller KT boxes with a small bit of terrain - it would solve a good few rumour engines

I have a strong suspicion that the SG release will be the new edition of MESBG rather than heresy. 

 

Neither AoS nor 40k are due for a refresh next year. However, heresy 2.0 will hit the 3 year mark.

 

Based on past patterns, I'd wager the monster heresy box set for next summer with MESBG late this year.

The Night Lords' (Nemesis Claw) upgrades were a full sprue - you could easily fit 5 Ratling Snipers on the equivalent. Stick them in with the existing Ogryns, and call it a day.

 

(And then turn around and charge £31.50 for that single sprue, like with the Chaos Cultists.

If it turns out to be 'ard Boyz, then I wonder if they'll use their design from Space Marine?

No idea, no idea on the numbers, if could be one Ratling and a whole squad of Orgyns or one Orgyn and a whole squad of Ratlings, just heard what I heard and it excited me, always loved Ratlings, we share the same size feet and love a good stew!

Or a squad of Ratlings riding on a squad of Ogryns? Necro has master-blaster, no reason 40k can't.

If the box is two brand new releases, which isn't typical for the Kill Team seasons, then could this be a stand-alone product in the vein of Ashes of Faith? 

 

That wouldn't invalidate the concept of a season for flier-centric teams.

Maybe. Tankbustas being more armoured than your average Ork (not hard) would make sense for their role. But I wouldn't read much into the bomb squigs. They've expanded beyond Tankbusta exclusivity and are used by both Kommandos and Squighog Boyz now.

I can’t see them using the existing ogryn sprues - it’s 3 sprues, 1 for each ogryn which feels too many. Which could mean new models, but then would they also do new models for ratlings? I do enjoy my ratlings!

 

Unless I’m forgetting another Ogryn release?

Thinking about it, if the Ogryns + Ratlings are the fully new sprue, then it stands to reason that the Orks would be an Upgrade Sprue, right?

 

I feel that further supports the idea that it's 'ard Boyz, since that's a pretty easy to do Upgrade Sprue for the basic Boyz box.
