IF Predator with twin-linked Illiastus Assault Cannon - using Baal Predator

I began collecting HH IF some time ago, and now I'm getting acquainted with our rules.

 

According to the Liber Astartes, I can swap the turret weapon for a Twin-Linked Illiastus Assault Cannon, which seems very thematic.

 

Now, I'd like to know if it would be a good idea to get an used Baal Predator and use the twin assault cannon turret as the configuration above.

 

How do you all feel about this?

Yep, and it's a tremendous idea.

 

You could try and force the TLAC into the round deimos turret, I have no idea if it fits or not, or you could buy the blood angels FW kit, because I don't think there's any BA specific stuff on there, and add it to a normal deimos kit  https://www.warhammer.com/en-GB/shop/the-horus-heresy-blood-angels-predator-upgrade-pack-2024?queryID=97a3249e91e35382d5fa5995fc8bc430 or you could just buy a baal predator. It's all lore and game compatible, as far as I can tell at least.

 

Relatively unique things, at least in my experience, are worth taking at least one of, if only for catching an opponent off guard somewhat in a sea of standard T4/3+ saves, so get your S10 power fists and 3++ save terminators rocking too!

Ive used the Baal for the flamestorm turret, absolutely no reason the cannon version wouldnt work just as well :) Even makes a lot of sense to have an brand new weapon on the newer chassis.

Meh,could have fit another 3 assault cannons on there :D looks amazing though, and even better as fists with +1 to hit...

Mars pattern Rhinos were in use.

 

I've got a couple of Mars Predators I'd be using alongside the Deimos, in my fluff they'd represent campaign replacements for destroyed hulls (fleet has some limited manufacturing capacity but Mars pattern it is)
