Hey everyone, after a long hiatus I've decided to convert a new terminator captain. This is what I've managed so far:

I still had the leviathan captain on sprue and it seems to have pretty much the same proportions as the new kit (they are likely iterations of the same digital base sculpt), so I managed to combine the two. I preferred the pose of the new kit, but I also wanted that cape from the leviathan captain. I had to shave off some material from the underside of the cape and bend it slightly, but ultimately it was no too much work. Still needs a bit of clean up here and there.

Now, the arms are only pinned in place, as I've got several weapon bits incoming, mostly the heavy weapons from the current terminator kit. I also got a nice deal on the gravis captain chain sword, which I'm planing to kitbash a nice chain fist with.

I'm mostly undecided whether or not a cyclone launcher would be overkill on this model, and what gun to put in his right hand. Some of the heavies might be appealing, but the good old storm bolter is just an iconic choice for terminators.

Another thing that has come to mind is that the nubby shoulder pads look kinda cool. I might trim the nubs down to a uniform length and leave the pads off to give him this stripped-down look, which also works well with this head.

Looking forward to your ideas and suggestions!

Additional parts have arrived and here's the current wip:

I decided against a heavy weapon in his right hand to avoid overloading the model, especially since I've committed to the cyclone launcher. What's left is the shoulder pads (ordered standard terminator ones, the captain ones are too large and clash with the launcher pods) and another, slightly larger chain saw for the fist. Not sure how these will pan out but I'm fairly happy with the model as is already.
