Company focused on their other tabletop game and model line. Not interested in that, declares "This is the behavior of a company in a managerial tailspin."

Lol 40k will come back around for you guys again.

The AoS roadmap was also terrible. It’s just not a board approved topic unless something changed and I missed it. I have AoS armies.

The stormcast models were cool, but everything else seems so .... lacking.

There has to be something there to be lacking. This was 45 minutes of them telling us they plan to release stuff next year. Not what that stuff is.

Age of Sigmar is a big blind spot for most people here, so if you're ignoring it you'll have a perspective that GW is doing nothing at all. They're just not doing anything anyone here is interested in.

I collect and paint Stormcast on top of my Space Wolves, so I'm good focusing on them until GW gets around to the Space Wolves refresh that's supposed to happen at the end of the edition.

A lot of people on here may not care about AoS but this focus on it for this preview comes after we’ve just had months of pretty intense focus on AoS for the launch of their new edition. 40k and other games have already taken a backseat and felt like they’re treading water in terms of information release whilst they launch AoS. The advertisement for this preview felt like they were finally moving past that and were prepared to give some information on their other games.

If they want to focus on one particular game for a preview then that’s their choice but don’t then advertise the show as being about roadmaps for all the other games if you’re not actually going to give any concrete information on them.

That was pretty rough

Stormcast and skaven should be dropping simultaneously or week after each other. Combined with hivestorm in October and the general ba release there'd enough for a major release every month up until December.

It's going to feel extremely anemic however assuming that the road maps are correct and there's nothing else really slated to come out until 2025.

It's going to be hard to continue to justify the 2 week pre order window for this level of releases.

I'm guessing a lot of mto and bl releases to pad things out.

Also lol at the melee weapons not being previewed until next month putting them merrily in autumn two whole ass seasons late

I think the marketing manager that’s in all the GW horror stories told the teams they had to provide a roadmap for their products next year but couldn’t include specific months. Or quarters. Or products.

Clearly a bait and switch to get better audience numbers and try to sell AoS to fans of other GW games.

Feels like they’re trying to push AOS hard right now but it just doesn’t seem to have the following. I check some online retailers every now and then that show AOS skaventide stock to see what sells. Gamers Guild still has 258 boxes of Skaventide.

Blood Angels? Sold out and they had over 100+ boxes. Heck even the Imperial Agents have just a handful in stock.

It feels that GW is missing the mark for what the community wants, both in terms of speed of edition release, rules turn over, simplification of rules and crunch (some like it, some don’t), etc.

I’m still waiting for some of the new releases for old world and they’re no where in sight.

I’m excited though and want to see what Krueger stuff comes out.

definitely feels like a marketing manager who didn't have anything to market but refused to compromise with reality

I think it's more that 40k fans will buy literally anything no matter how poor the quality and/or value.

As someone with world eaters who got the joys of being at the back end of an edition last time, alongside owning chaos knights and drukhari: this sucks. Likewise I can't imagine any of the chaos factions will be getting more than 1-2 minis apart from EC given the speed they need to release them to not be 3 months before 11th.

I usually try to keep to the “if you don’t have anything nice to say…” adage, but this was just lame.

I mean, why say you’re releasing a roadmap, if the only concrete thing you’re going to tell us is what you’ve already released? I guess it’s fair enough to say “Warhammer 40.000 is taking a breather for the rest of the year”, because that’s actually information of a sort. But the rest was basically “things will be released at some point, this year and/or next year”. Well, duh!

When they announce Mortarion for 40k years ago they gave us a glimpse of his scythe. Everyone knew it was him but this was a great way to create hype and to keep people interested.

It's just an example.

Here we have a really poor "event" with no roadmaps (they added it later in the site) written, and when we finally gave us those, they are vague, tiny (3 pixels images) and most of the pic is a summary of what we already gave us?! Who the hell create this mess?

We know the models and rules are at least 1 year ahead of what we have. Is it so hard to give us just an artwork or a little snippet of a future codex?

What is the purpose of those fake interviews, of these inspid hollow events?

I feel bad for the GW guys in front of the cameras.

Who thought and still think this is a good idea?

Only BA in the next 4 months makes me think something has happened logistically so that there is delay. Some guy with a hat and a beard claims that The Old World is The Most Popular game, and its releases are accelerated, but I doubt that is it.

Is there a super secret game coming out?

40k selling more than Fantasy has ALWAYS been a thing. That doesn’t mean that AoS “doesn’t have much of a following” . And stores being idiots and overbuying AoS boxes is not than indicator of anything

More weapons for existing HH walkers is probably the other loadouts for the Thanatar and the Deredeo imho.

I haven’t watched the videos, just looked at the posts. We’re there any spoken hints for Legions Imperialis?

Who is making this claim? No one is talking about the Old World in my gaming circles.

I know that's anecdotal to an extent, but we are in communication with a lot of people in various countries.

What a god awful stream. I understand and even defend GW at their seemingly worst but this was just so poor.

The “roadmaps” are about as useful as a chocolate teapot and some of the “news” about what’s coming next year I could have got from the local charlatan mystic. “Space marines coming for Horus Heresy”…really?

The real head scratcher is that BA close off 40K for this year….in August!? I know it’ll be a few weeks till they’re officially released, probably taking us into nearly October, but it’s a poor look.

GW’s stubbornness has helped at times but their communication leaves so much to be desired in this day and age. This stream should have been someone of reasonable seniority saying “we’re spending the next few months catching up on things we’ve already shown you, and next year we have X,Y,Z. See you at Christmas for our Christmas boxes”.

Yeah, I wondered about that too. I guess maybe there usually really aren't a lot of new releases in november-december, because the christmas boxes fill that space, but still.
