I'd wager more likely the ascendant mini, although I'm not sure who'd be in the market for a resin version of him at double the price necessarily.

I suppose it'd depend on how different it looks (or more likely if they take advantage of resin over plastic) what details it'll add. Of course, we'll have a reverse situation soon enough when plastic demon fulgrim drops with the EC codex.

Was thinking about the road maps we would get and wanted to go through what we had left for 10th. What codex books are left for this edition?

World Eaters
Death Guard
T.sons
Emp. Children
Chaos Daemons

Chaos Knights

Drukhari
Aeldari
Votann

Imperial Knights
Grey knights
Space wolves
Astra Militarum

My list is off the cuff, I am sure I got something wrong, please correct me as needed.

All angron art recent or even in the last decade that I can see are nigh on clones of his plastic mini, so unless you want yet more pipes/chains/skulls it'll simply be a re-posed version of the plastic one with a sword.

Not that it can't be cool, but it'll be a hard sell when the plastic version is there are a noticeably lower price point imo.

One exception I'd be happy with is the full on angel/comet angron with him mid flight, glowing, ready to smash down into bunkers etc.

No, you are spot on. Chaos are mysteriously absent at this stage.

Chaos are mysteriously absent at this stage.

Not to stir the pot, but I do wonder what the idea of holding the god-legions back this far along with the chaos daemon codex is due to that rumor floating around that chaos daemons are being folded into the god-legions. I don't have much faith in the validity in this idea, but it is a curious thought to have going into tomorrow as it could provide a hint to this claim....or not at all. After spending 9 editions with GW I wouldn't be surprised by anything anymore. Especially after seeing what happened to harlequins and deathwatch.

***ZeroWolf beat me to it.

My only hopeful prediction tommarow is that the t.sons will be one of the first on the map. Reason being is the heavily hinted at t.sons daemon bots in the rumor engines and white dwarf lore drop plus the timing of a certain game dropping soon.

Rohr’s uniformed, out there (but incredibly handsome) predictions for Heresy:

-Fall: Characters and Mech Wave 2 (Myrmidons, Domitar, Kratos)

-Winter: Characters and Specialist Marine Squad (Destroyers or Breachers)

-Spring: Characters and “Fast Attack” Wave for all three factions (Speeders, Sabres, Carndons, and Ursarax)

-Summer: Val’s Mark 2 Box, Characters, and of course, Melee Weapons

As an aside, I have a crazy theory that Demons will be the baddy faction of 11th edition.

Demons serve two game systems and are almost all 15-year-old sculpts. We've had back-to-back xenos refreshes – is GW really going to leave Chaos fallow for a decade? I hope the Emperor's Children get the Death Guard treatment and anchor the launch box. I wouldn't be surprised if CSM were the star – there's still a lot to be redone with Raptors, Bikers, Multi-part Obliterators. All that said, a proper relaunch of Demons would look awesome as a counterpart to whatever marine treats are in store.

I know Valrak says it's likely to be orks, but they've had 95% of their range refreshed over the last five or so years. Maybe multi-part Boyz, updated Killa-Kans, and Flash Gitz are enough to anchor it?

The only flagging sculpts left for orks imo are tankbustas, lootas/burnas (awkward loadout) and maybe stormboys.

I'd welcome 40k daemon sculpts that were god agnostic and could be used across the different books via a colour scheme, similar to the idea of the ruinstorm daemons.

It would cut back the sheer volume of kits needed and service multiple forces with new sculpts faster.

For me specifically, it's not possible for resin to top plastic.

A resin model may have more detail and be better cut.

But a plastic one will always clean up and glue together more easily, and if we're talking FW resin, plastic will also be cheaper and more accessible (ie. I can often walk in and buy it off the shelf).

I do understand that for a lot of folks, detail is everything, but I'm not a good enough painter that the difference in detail matters to me, but all that other stuff really does. It's all just personal preference though- not arguing that either is objectively better or worse.

You have missed the most important one of all! The Black Templars !!! :) :)

Doubt we're waiting another year for melee weapons haha!

I have a feeling the Aurox will happen first, just because the Carnodon uses a very similar chassis (notably the rear-engine is different and the weaponry). Plus it's probably waiting for a Campaign Book to unLegacy'ing its rules (ALA Meduson, Aximand, etc) unlike the Aurox which is already in Liber Imperium (and is Sold Out Online). Like the Arquitor it was also one of, if not the last resin vehicle that Forge World produced and they don't appear to be in a hurry to plastify those yet.

The Malcador Infernus has totally vanished off the webstore now (the Valdor is still there but Sold Out Online) and with LI already having an SAified design of it I think there's a good chance of it appearing soon.

There's still some time to see if my theory that MkIII was 'updated' when it was because we'd be getting a Breacher kit this year holds any weight. I don't think we'll see Destroyers until the MkIV update happens, just because the current models have that 'uparmoured' variant of MkIV to them. Of course they could decide to do something similar with any other Mark as well.

If it's not Breachers then I could see (heh) Seeker Squads happening, maybe as a dual-kit with a MkVI Recon Squad.

The MkII box I think will be a Winter release (and this year at that) just because it leaves a healthy gap for the new edition boxset to appear. I have a baseless theory that they'll keep the Age of Darkness box around and just swap out the rulebook (ALA Dark Vengeance) just because of how much they've emphasised Beakies being the face of the Heresy.

As always I'm usually wrong about these things though, so everyone should just believe the opposite of everything I wrote.

The point about the Aurox is good, especially since it is in the Liber. My thought process behind the Mark 2 box being next summer is that it’s an off year for AoS and 40K and the first big rules change from 1.0 also came in an off year.

my fear is that besides Emp Children and Votann, I think we'll see most armies get 1 new model... maybe space wolves get a little more, so we'll see...

1 new model or refreshed model kinda stinks but that seems to be a fairly common thread.

Eldar and IG are rumoured to get a new dose of plastic, as are WE (though can't remember if that was pure speculation or if it had any rumours backing it up). Still leaves Knights/DE and a couple of others but that shouldn't be surprising.

SW are supposed to be getting a refresh on par with DA/BA (one model being Logan Grimar in Terminator Armour)

Have there been any 40k versus boxes this edition?

I don't think there have been. Lots of boxes, but no versus boxes yet. It makes sense- in order to make it worth your while, you have to need/want both armies, and that's tougher to find than a customer who would buy a single faction collection. Releasing as many Combat Patrols as they have has also crowded out the versus box.

I'm really looking forward to many flavours of Eldar, and I hope there's a hint that the Court of the Archon, the Beast Pack and Grotesques are released for DE. Obviously I want more, but I could be satisfied with that. Thing is, even if it's coming, they probably won't show anything or talk about it in this preview.

I think Daemons are only going to get new 40k models if they are 40k only eg Vashtor and friends or at least have a distinct 40k build option

AoS trend for Daemons has been to be cack rules wise and a huge focused on (mutated) cultists for Chaos gods

Existing plastic daemons might be mostly sold with square bases from now on

Feels like the Army Sets have replaced them for the most part, which I guess makes sense from GW's perspective - they typically have worse savings than the Versus boxes.

But are still better for the consumer in most cases since you don't need to find somebody to split the box with if you don't play both factions so kinda a win-win

In fairness I'd never have seen a stompa in a battle box. It's addition in a battleforce meant I now have one. Alas still hunting for fw upgrade kits for it. If only I'd got them when fw still sold them... That and the kill krusha remain my facepalm moments for not buying.

I hope we get a new codex for one of the mono chaos astartes faction soon because I'm curious to see if they'll ever get a new unit that is NOT a character...

Only Blood Bowl and AoS (Stormcast specifically) are getting any new reveals in this stream.

40k and HH2.0 are just getting a Roadmap.

Surprisingly, Killteam isn't, despite being on the cusp of a new edition.

I wonder how vague the HH Roadmap is going to be. I'm somewhat expecting Rapiers and Sentry Guns soon, if only because they're sold out online, my wishlist though would be Bikes, Speeders and (probably won't happen, at least not yet) Castraferrums. All you need to do is make the old MK4 FW Dread in plastic, it'll sell! Please Specialist Games team!
