It depict the 3 upcoming "real" updates. Isn't LoV wave 2 more urgently needed?

1-box smaller update like BT could be at any month though.

Yeah, but those are in 2025.

4 months away.

Why is 40k, GW's primary money maker, taking an unannounced 4 month break?

No clue, but there better be a good :cuss:ing reason for it

The heresy one is now out, there's a hint there might be another 30k faction getting a release this year (Talons perhaps?), and Heresy Thursday starts coming back in September.

I think that was for LI based on the wording.

"Miniature reveals for the Horus Heresy and Legions Imperialis are set to become much more frequent though, because next month brings the long-awaited return of Heresy Thursday!"

Good, i need my bi-weekly fix of vehicles. /s

Either way thursdays have been feeling rather sparse. Maybe I'm too spoiled in that regard.

Hah, just what Heresy desperately needs......MORE TANKS.

I hope by "walkers" they mean infantry and not just new weapons options for sentinels hahaha!

Walkers could be knights too right? There were rumours about the Styrix and Magaera and those could be weapon (and some armour plating) upgrades for the existing Questors kit

I normally try to find a positive in stuff like this, and I always go in with low expectations anyway but goddamn this was bad.

GW really have proven that they don't understand what a roadmap actually is. Vague comments and no dates are not a roadmap. Hell, the recent roadmap from the Space Marine 2 devs was a perfect example of what it should be.

I also found the little bits about the specialist games funny... Apparently telling us that in 2025 they will release new gangs for Necromunda and new Kill Teams is "news"... As if no one could have guessed that.

Honestly I feel bad for Adam and the rest of the community team. I can only imagine this is a case of them being told "Do a preview stream for Nova Open, but you're only allowed to say X, Y and Z" by upper management.

Edit: Thinking on it a bit more I can't help but wonder if this slowdown at the end of the year is intentional by GW to help them catch up with production of other kits following the very busy launches of 40k and AoS. If it is, they should just have said that, it would have gone over a lot better.

so nothing for the next 4 months for 40k really? i don't recall anything like this before and I don't understand it. nothing until 2025 now?

do they just have too many systems now and they can't actually support it? 40k is their cash cow. hard to believe there is nothing

So Blood Angels is it for 2024?  It’s August!  Did I miss something?

A quote from the article:

The Astra Militarum will be next to deploy after Codex Supplement: Blood Angels drops in the next few weeks. The Death Korps of Krieg are mustering in force and they’ll be making planetfall with a division of new plastic kits, taking them from a mere Kill Team to the meat-grinding army we know them to be.

So apparently GW doesn't realise 40k is the money maker that keeps the other games afloat?

Also, unrelated to 40k, but equally "annoying".
AoS and TOWplayers have been getting teased about Chorfs returning for ages now, so here they are!

In Bloodbowl.

And unusable by both AoS and The Old World.

I'm old fashioned. If you don't have something to say, keep your mouth shut. Announcing the sun will rise in the morning is not news. FOMO is not a sustainable business model.

It's not FOMO if everyone is missing out and they can't do :cuss: about it.

This is the behavior of a company in a managerial tailspin. Zero concrete plan for the immediate future, everything is up in the air, no product schedule, and no transparency with clients.

I hope this doesn't mean that the Chaos Lords that came out in those army boxes a while back aren't coming out till 2025 because that'd be kinda nutty.

I'm not insane right? They haven't released those yet?

they've not released the Nightlords Killteam yet either.

that, plus all Chaos bar base CSM being held off until edition's end is concerning

They haven't been released separately yet, so presumably those will be used to fill in the gaps in releases at some point between now and the end of the year.

GW is putting that to the test. I could go off, but nobody cares.

I'm getting old, it's all turning into a blur for me. Did the Night Lords come out before or after the army boxes?

Or they'll shadow drop them all in one go.

That's also possible.

Honestly, after that cluster:cuss:, we need Valrak to look to the future for any "rumours" just to salvage a scrap of excitement back.

So Blood Angels is it for 2024?  It’s August!  Did I miss something?

Right. I get (but don't like) doing one a month to stagger the codexes and increase sales. But this is pathetic even for GW

Makes me wonder if they actually will split daemons into the respective legion codecies. Then it would make sense to have them all very close to one another, so no one specific daemon faction will have to wait too long.

I would love for daemons to join their cult legions like in sigmar! Not everyone will though.

I'm getting old, it's all turning into a blur for me. Did the Night Lords come out before or after the army boxes?

Before.  Well before.  I don’t remember when they went on sale but they revealed the Night Lords the same show they revealed Asmodai and the Deathwing Knights.

The total amount of 40k kits we will have had this year will be the lowest for the past decade I believe... I think development/production wise solar auxilia & mechanicum releases take from the 40k quota, despite them always saying how the work of one studio doesnt affect the other I think it in fact does.

That said, we dont know how much KT there will be. And who knows, there might be a WHQ 40k inbetween too ? ( probably not ;) )

Btw, it didnt sound as if LI gets a new faction anytime soon, they talk about all the possibilities but then say the coming YEARS they are first busy expanding spacemarines and solar auxilia. HH does sound to be getting another sooner tha 40k though.

they've not released the Nightlords Killteam yet either.

Even if it was a limited release GW normally sees it as "released" so won't talk about it in reveal shows. I'm pretty sure those will show up in a random Sunday preorder article before the end of the year, there is just no need to announce it beforehand

I mean, that's wonderful.
I had one faction launch at edition start and is doing terrible (Loyalist Space Marines) and my main faction is, according to comments made on stream, probably gonna launch about a week out from 11th (T-Sons, along with the rest of the Chaos factions).

It sure is nice that the Imperium get yet another range refresh and the Aeldari get to update some of their 30 year old models, but seriously?

Chaos is the second biggest faction in 40k, the most "lore relevant" one and GW decided to :cuss: us all over seemingly for no reason.

Stu made it seem like Chaos is the third big release, after Eldar. I think Imperial Knights are a gap-codex to come out while AoS is getting a major release; then major 40k release of Chaos.
