Huh, the inquisitor with Warhammer+ is immensely superior to Coteaz, which is a flagship release for Imperial Agents.

Seems like a strange place to be. Surely not deliberately done, but makes you wonder which direction GW is desiring to head eh.

The warcom article promises a lot but we'll see. I'll stay subbed, mainly because I have nothing else in life outside of Warhammer.

We need a sad react emoji for times like this

I also noticed that the BL author interviews are going behind the WH+ paywall.  Even less reason to visit WarComm.  The lack of even a passing mention of the Vault was a glaring hole for me.  My sub was already hanging by a thread in my mind and this may be the tipping point for me.

@Chapter Master Valrak does that mean the blood angel terminator doesn’t pan out? Or perhaps it’s the store anniversary model this coming year?

Could be either two things, store anniversary like you said or it was all lies

I'll stay subbed this year, mainly because I'm an Inquisition fan and like the models for both 40k and AoS, and have some ideas about conversions for them. So for $95 I'll get both the exclusive minis and the animations, as I don't care about the Vault or any of the GW-produced battle reports/painting shows.

Breaking that down more for me means that I'm getting conversion fodder for the following:

40k models - Inquisitor (possibly converting him to a Coteaz count-as), Servitor (going to convert to a Rogue Trader's Death Cult assassin), Servo-skull (will be a tome skull token for an Agent's squad)

AoS - Marshal (don't know yet, but have thoughts), Squire (will be a Medic for a Rogue Trader)

My thoughts are for $70 (2 x the cost of buying each exclusive on its own) I'll be getting an Inquisitor (minimum cost of $35), two members of a Rogue Trader entourage (squad costs $62.5 for 10 models, so roughly $13 for both), a servo-skull (Agents squad is 58 for 7 models, so somewhere near 8 bucks), and a rando Marshal model (about $22.5 if I wanted him solo). So if I was purchasing all of these models at GW prices, it would be around $78 (if I could just get the models I wanted), so I'm breaking even-ish there. For the other 25 bucks, I get whatever animations they produce this year and 12 months of the app for a cost of about $2.08 per month. That isn't a terrible deal for me, even if I only really use the app to submit lists to tournaments and they only have a few animations per year- I've spent per month on frivolous purchases for my dogs and cats so 2 bucks for rarely used stuff is ok. I do know that that particular view is pretty privileged of me, but overall the hobby leans more towards those with the privilege of a certain amount of disposable income than those without.

Do I really like the sub, no. I think that GW has continually over-promised and under-delivered on the content that was supposed to be put on the WH+ sub, especially in terms of new animations. I personally get no value from their paint shows, battle reports, or loremaster vids, as I have other options to get all of those. I don't use the Vault as I can get old GW published content elsewhere, and the app needs a lot of work for me to want to use it- while also having to pay for a physical codex to access all the rules. I'm subbing mainly because the models this year tickled my fancy and I actually want them, rather than any other reason. So I'll again sub this year, but unless next year's minis are either Necrons, more Inquisition, or somehow Imperial Knights, I'll probably let it lapse.

Given that these are effectively advertising for books they really should make them publically available.

Fool me once GW, shame on you. Fool me for 4 years in a row, shame on me.

To be fair, I keep getting fooled by "promises" from my wife, and that's been 16 years so far. So 4 years of promises by GW is nothing, and I'm still going to be suckered in again as 'this might be the one'

I did cancel my annual membership though, as it renews on the 28th, which is before I get paid. So I'm signing up for monthly. I can't moan about not getting the mini right away, as the other 3 are still sitting undercoated but not painted.

@Rusted Boltgun thank you very much, that makes sense! I have reached out via e-mail, let's see what they say, and I will post the answer here should there be anyone else interested.

Got the response today:

"Thank you for your email.

In this instance, we are still within the Year 3 "Season" of Warhammer+ until the 25th August 2024, so if you subscribe today you will be eligible for Karlina Von Carstein as your reward.

You can opt for a monthly subscription plan which requires 12 consecutive months to be completed prior to claiming your miniature, or an annual subscription wherein the miniature will be available to claim 1 month after the purchase date.

Please note though that given how close we are to the next season, it is possible that when your year has completed for Year 3, it may renew at the beginning of Year 5 meaning Year 4 is skipped. This is unfortunately due to the way the cycles work for renewals and we cant guarantee that you will be able to get both Year 3 and Year 4 if you subscribe right now.

I hope that this helps with some context, but if you have any further queries about the subscription please do let us know, we are happy to help!

Have a wonderful rest of the day.

Best regards,"

I honestly did not think of that possibility, but I guess it makes sense. Oh well, I'mma give it some thought over the weekend.

That is...odd. I don't know what to think about it- in one sense it makes sense that you would be unable to qualify for both year 3 and year 4 rewards in the same subscription, but it doesn't feel good that you would miss out on a year due to the way the subscription cycle works. Maybe being able to at least buy the year 4 minis would be an acceptable option?

Love that inquisitor - guess I'm staying subbed!

Getting real H.R.Giger vibes from the servitor, which is a good thing, anyone else feel like it's a 4k redo of this guy:

I hadn't noticed myself, but now that you mention it, it does look like it.  That dude used to be one of my favorite models back in the day.  Sharp eyes!

i thought this guy was a modern interpretation of that classic.

I’ve cancelled my sub and will await some decent content and likely rejoin in the new year. Partly as a protest about the poor content support in year 3 - I want my lack of renewal to count towards anyone dropping subs to send a clear message the poor support is not good enough.

He’s significantly different.

I think that I tried this last year and it didn’t work. You have to have been subbed for the whole of that specific year I believe.

Just picked up my WH+ Inquisitor/ Noisebot.

Really quick delivery- I expected it would take a lot longer. No rules in the box; I can just use the standar Inquisitor from the book, but the Noisebot is a bit of a question mark. This was what I needed to cheer me up a bit after the news about the demise of Spec Ops in KT24.

Thank you for posting this, I'd completely missed that they were available for order now. Just sorted mine.

I'm surprised there's no rules in there given the weird speaker chap doesn't seem to correlate to anything. Bit odd. He's probably making his way to being something creepy in necromunda for me anyway but that's beside the point.

How much is it to buy the 2nd mini?

£26 with a subscription. Not sure if can be bought now with an annual sub, or have to wait till next year to order the extra. I'm on monthly sub now, so have to wait till next year for my mini choice (I chose the marshall this time).

Indeed, had no idea they were available to order - some poor communication from GW about that :ermm: Anyway, my Inquisitor and side-kick has been ordered!

Good callout - had no idea we had to manually go back in and order the respective mini we selected.
