I was just thinking about him and his wonderful Iron Warriors army not long ago. He was a great dude to interact with on here over the years and I shall mourn his loss.

Godspeed, frater.

Insane Psychopath (as I knew him) always had a passion for the hobby that few, if any, could match. His army told two stories: one of his Iron Warriors and their history, and one of the man himself and his journey through the hobby. Watching his skills increase and his trophy racks grow always proved inspiring. It breaks my heart that his army shall now stand down, adrift without their guiding hand. I hope his family and friends can find some small peace in knowing he was a positive influence on so many.

May his memory be a blessing.

I heard about this whilst I was on holiday and have been meaning to post since getting back. I knew Jamie first of all as Insane Psychopath. We became mods at roughly the same time (around 2007 from memory) and would exchange PMs and bit of best practice with one another.

Others have already spoken about what a great hobbyist he was (and he really was). He was also a thoroughly lovely individual, sometimes actually worried about how he came across despite being so nice to interact with. I will miss him.

This is a hard post for me to make.

I.P. (As I called him) was one of the old guard that embodied the whole hobby and never succumbed to the flavour of the month. I loved his passion for the background, and the 40K universe. We probably collectively at one point may have had the largest Iron Warrior collections on the planet, but who knows..... maybe there were others as goofy as us about the whole thing.

I will share one of my favourite moments about Jaimie. Not only is this one of my favourite moments of his, but also I think it was the best of times for 40K and we've -never- seen anything close (IMO) since....

Way back in the day GW started a fantastic idea up. you could have a battle, anywhere, against your friends, a tournament, whatever. And you could record the result online to a website that was tracking all the results of the campaign.

I can't tell you how much fun and community involving this was. The results were tracked live, and had real world gaming implications. At this time (similar to now) the Chaos community was FAR smaller than the Imperium, but it was far tighter, and worked very well together.

Anyway, this was during the reign of Pete Haines (blast from the past). And me and IP ran "Yahoo Groups" which could be used as private email lists. And low and behold Pete Haines was on mine, and I couldn't believe it. IP and I came up with a multi faceted plan to take down a Forgeworld.

It was an absolute blast and IP was all in with this effort. We collaborated with Deathguard forces around the world. (Very popular faction at the time for Chaos.) And together we did it.... all of us managed to pull of the actual overtaking of a Forgeworld. This was written about, and meant that key reinforcements and armaments would be available to the forces of Chaos, and GW acknowledged this with some fiction surrounding the event.

I don't think I ever had so much fun in the game, and I've been playing for a very long time. IP was in there like a dirty shirt and I think it was perhaps the most excited I'd seen him to play as well. This truly was what the hobby was all about for both of us.

RIP my fellow Warsmith. You are not forgotten.

Sorry to hear; his work was inspirational, and he was a good, decent fellow. It's clear that many hobbyists owe a lot to him; I hope that's some comfort to his friends and family.

Just want to add my condolences. It's always sad when a fellow wargamer says goodbye but reading this thread has reminded me of when I first started using Bolter and Chainsword and reading about Jamie's Iron Warriors.
