Many of us were not too happy with the Nova roadmap or whatever you would like to call it. Myself included.

This is specifically about the things this board covers.

I'd like to inject and see a little positivity of what you were able to take from the Nova show.

There is nothing wrong with voicing your displeasure but in this thread, please keep it light and positive. Thank you.

Imperial Guard: New Krieg. Even if this isn't something I am overly personally excited for, there are a lot of conversion opportunities that can come from these kits. One thing I have wanted to see for some time is variety in Imp Guard and the different regiments, so I take this as a positive.

Eldar: More plastic Aspects. Never a bad thing. Again I don't play Eldar specifically. But I have over the years flirted with the idea of starting them. More aspects in plastic is a huge boon for the range and I look forward to seeing these updated.

Imperial Knights: I am not sure what really to expect here. I do hope for something new? 1 new unit? Or maybe some updated kits, something added in plastic would be nice as well. This can also double into 30k and so I see this as a win win if something is added or plastic'd out.

BIG NAMES!? And Chaos treats: Or however they worded this. We are waiting on World Eaters - I am not sure how much they will add to this range but I could see them adding at least one new unit and so that would be nice.

TSons: Not sure if they will add anything but their range is small and could use a little something, currently they play very well.

Death Guard: This is a pretty solid range, I don't expect much but an update to codex for sure, maybe a character update or refresh

Emperor's Children: This is the big one, this is what many of us are waiting to see and I am excited for this / can't wait. When it comes to big names I expect we'll get the Primarch and this is the BIG NAME they are talking about. Of course they could mean more than just him, but I do think this is what we'll see and I have been waiting a while to see it. It should probably be one of their larger releases for 2025.

What they haven't talked about but we sort of expect.

Space Wolves should see some sort of refresh.

Grey Knights should see a refresh, really excited to see GKs honestly.

That is what I got for now, those are the positives as I see them, those are the things I am looking forward to. What about everyone else?

Not sure how to get positive over "that's it for 2024 boys, wrap it up until the second quarter of 2025" but I'll try, though I'm only going to speak in terms of my own interest which is 40k only here.

Imperial Guard is interesting to see. Main intrigue is krieg but as a catachan guy not really too hyped. However, any new codex gets my interest as someone who likes tinkering.

Eldar...not sure what to expect here. As a faction they started 10th as the God tier faction, then ate I believe 4-5 nerfs in a row and are at worst a mid-tier faction so I ain't looking forward to what comes of this because something in me believes this will be the Anti-Mechanicus codex. Just overboard and overpowered. Though on positive side will be exciting to see the new models for them.

Knights. This is a big one for me, these are my boys but right now they are completely worthless. You ether going hard on Armiger spam (and that point, just go chaos) or you run nothing but big knights with Canis in there with his hilariously pushed stats and abilities compared to other knights. In terms of what I look forward to, is seeing them expand the main faction rule to being a bit more interesting for choices, because right now there isn't one (You take Tyrant slaying. This is like the Futurama calender scene. No, not reclaim. Tyrant).

For models here, Imperials NEED some armiger variants. Wouldn't mind if they leaned more shooty options but still, more armigers to help fill more roles would be great. Though...hard to be positive...

...we're losing the Ceratus knights when the codex drops and then at that point the sales for Horus heresy knights hits zero harder than start of 10th edition D-Cannons. If we get to keep them, that would be a major win but we all know they're getting scrapped and if anyone needed to know why GW made a bundle box for those 2 knights: that's why.

I want to be positive...I really do but...how can one be positive when we weren't exactly given any sauce to work with?

My two highlights were:

1) Warhammer Underworlds is getting new teams. I mostly care because I think porting it to 40K would be a breakout product and a way to draw in new players

2) Warcry - there was nothing mentioned; they talked up an expansion that came out months ago; my hope here is that they kill the game due to low sales and focus more effort on KillTeam in its stead.

In general, any decision that focuses more resources on 40K is a good thing!

To be fair part of our disappointment comes from the fact that we already knew all this stuff was coming thanks to Valrak (hallowed be his name). Potentially there's a whole sector of the hobby who never step out of the official channels, for whom this road map was a big revelation.

It was good to see Adam Troke back!

Agree 100%. Nothing we didn’t already know from reliable rumour sources.  In fact, less than we expected as the only announcements are for next year and most of us were probably expecting a couple of books before Xmas.

Eldar aren't just getting aspect warrior refreshes but something completely new, a warp spider phoenix lord (wonder if that means Shining Spears will get one? They're aspect warriors aren't they or they something else entirely).

Real curious about what direction they will take those. I don't expect any major releases for knights; but I'm happy to be wrong.

My only guess with Knights would be an Armiger Moirax kit- two Armigers with enough guns for two of each. It's still a "small" release, but it would be in line with the plasticfication of the Cerastus Knights and give both 30k and 40k a boost. My real hope would be plastic Magaera/Styrix upgrade kits (with much better rules....), but I doubt that would happen.

Impressively selfish and entitled. Not at all shocked it's coming from someone on the 40k side of things. Wishing other people's game gets destroyed so yours can get more attention is really low.

I had not heard this, so this would be nice for Eldar!

Remember gang keep it light and positive. No need to wish for other games to go so 40k or something else can get better.

Such a spiteful and hideous attitude.

40k is trapped in an endless cycle of repeats and updates. It's stale and hideously bland as it is. It was that stale they felt the need to bring back primarchs. Even the Krieg release is just another bunch of guard. Blood Angels, the inquisitor... Well worth ploughing more resources into.

Comparatively AoS has brought out a better version of combat patrol, constantly bringing in amazing models because they're not beholden to 40 years of development. Etc, etc.

You're welcome to your opinion but it's gross. Are you just trolling at this stage?

Krieg plastics and Legion-specifics for Heresy are pretty big news. If the information had been delivered in any other way I think there'd have been a lot of hype and I'm sure when this, uhhh, event is in the rear view mirror that hype will probably bubble back to the surface.

Legion specific plastics will be amazing but sounded like it was years away.

Legion specific plastics isn't something even worth mentioning at this point.

The rate core Legion units are coming out is abysmal and by the time they're out there's almost certainly going to be another design philosophy shift.

In 5th ed they said they wanted Legion books for chaos and we still haven't got all of those 15 years later

Warcry is 5 years old, so we could be looking at a new edition

In regards to the krieg, I can’t be happy about gas mask geeks.

catachan deserve a refresh long before krieg.

Krieg have overtaken in popularity I believe, but I do think Catachan will get their moment to shine again. Either as a Kill Team (have them versus 2-3 tyranid lictors for fun) or as a future range refresh.

Not the place, I know, but I've only ever heard good things about Warcry's ruleset (would play it but I've got too many systems on the go as is)

Considering the Catachan minis are a disaster, I am not surprised. But that is a problem of GW’s own making

Space Nam has you covered there! Wargames Atlantic sells them and the price is excellent.

The Catachan Command Squad and the recent releases, Sergeant Ripper and the Covid Colonel are all great models. It’s just the infantry squad and hwt that have aged poorly.

What recent Catachan command squad are you talking about?

those two limited run character models are the only ones I’m familiar with recently.
