Tallarn Commander
I really like your use of the Raptor helms! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/383919-warsmith-tainlys-grand-company/page/4/#findComment-6115071 Share on other sites
Dr_Ruminahui
I think they look as good as the limitations of the model allow (the chaos bikes are not what I would call an attractive kit, the bike itself in particular). You make really good use of bits from other sources (I particularly like that plasmagun) and the paint job seems fine to me, but perhaps a bit muted (did you get a bit of frosting from sealing them?) SirTainly
Thanks guys - the I found the Raptor bits while having a sort out, and they do look so good when combined with the old style CSMs. Also I prefer to use leftover bits than prints if I can, as it means I'm giving house space to useful stuff, rather than might be useful one day stuff. One bike had to be Dullcoted as the Nuln wash went shiny (not mixed well). I think the some of the others are dull because they weren't sprayed very consistently, so essentially in places it's grey plastic with some light metallic flecks. I should have resprayed them, but only noticed this as I was doing the hand painting stages. As usual I'm really pushed for time with job and farm stuff, so had to accept them as is and do my best. I just found out I need to complete another 11 guys before the weekend after next for an event, which was very annoying, I knew I had a Predator to finish and Fabius and his acolyte, but not a whole squad of cultists and a Legionary Sgt too! SirTainly Posted yesterday at 08:32 AM Author Share Posted yesterday at 08:32 AM (edited) After a weekend of getting thrashed at 40k, here are some shots of stuff I painted for the event. I have to say WTC terrain for me is an absolute fun sponge - no shooting above 24", no deploying more than 3 vehicles without ruining you chances of playing the game with the rest of them, and all the visual appeal of a cereal box (foam core on an acrylic base). I think I'm going to be very selective of future events to chose ones that are more casual, want to play on nice looking terrain and don't set it up so only melee or close range shooting have a chance. New plastic Predator Obligatory additionally needed squad leader Cultists (pulled from 2 old style squads) Fabius Edited yesterday at 11:12 AM by SirTainly Tallarn Commander and Dr_Ruminahui 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/383919-warsmith-tainlys-grand-company/page/4/#findComment-6117984 Share on other sites
Tallarn Commander
These arenwonderful models, as always! I love your Cultists. They are very reminiscent of Trench Crusade. And I like how your Surgeon Acolyte’s victim is an Imperial Fist. My Surgeon Acolyte’s victim is also an Imp Fist. SirTainly
thanks, I built them before traitor guard became something with official model, and fancied the IW would have human lackeys to do trench digging etc - so went for a DKOK vibe without being DKOK. If you look at any of my models with trophy helmets or dead enemies, there's always an IF bit in there - it had to be done! :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/383919-warsmith-tainlys-grand-company/page/4/#findComment-6118161 Share on other sites
