All not already plastic models should always take precedent, but really, any and every model old enough to drink should be considered for renewal.

the Vyper and falcon family imo are pretty iconic as they are at best they need a tactical squad style recut not a change to the design etc.

dire avengers i could see being a killteam upgrade sprue for the new guardian kit.

ever since seeing the art of the warpspiders racing across the desert popping in and out of portals ive wanted more dynamic warpspiders they are 100% my fav aspect.

I think its unlikely that Dire Avengers get released through Kill Team unfortunately, as they're already part of the Blades of Khaine team.

That is a shame, they could charge 80 dollars a box and people would thank them for it.

ok ok that joke is a little petty and getting old I know.

I do think Dire Avengers need an update, not sure how high on my list of wants that is.

Spiders and Hawks first please.

The Vyper could do with a redesign to make it closer to the Venom. As you say it is a really iconic design, it's almost strange when you actually handle one that you realise it doesn't quite look how you imagined/remembered it did - being just that bit tall when you put it alongside the Venom.

I'd lean more towards Ynnari than Exodites myself, honestly.

God I hope not. The whole Ynnari thing is almost as big a fluff travesty as Primaris Space Marines, maybe even more so.

Dire Avengers getting an update would be nice, however Aeldari still have some of their major models in metal, so they clearly get priority on the update cycle.

(TIL Dire Avengers are a 20yr old Kit. They don't... look like a 20yr old Kit to me at least, but then again I don't collect Aeldari so IDK if there's a huge obvious Scaling issue or whatever.)

hawks, spiders and dragons

They're all Finecast these days I'm afraid. MESBG and TOW seems to be the only model ranges that still have *some* metal production for, although it tends to be a little all over the place.

So potentially we have the following kits coming down the line:

  1. Swwoping Hawks
  2. Baharoth
  3. Fire Dragons
  4. Feugen
  5. Warp Spiders
  6. Warp Spider Phoenix Lord
  7. Karadras
  8. Asurmen

I think that this will be sufficient to eliminate the remaining finecast from the Eldar range. 8 releases looks like a lot but the Blood Angels got 8 in their update and they are just a sub-faction. What it does mean is that I think it is unlikely we will see any existing plastic kits redone as this wave will likely focus on eliminating the remaining finecast.

what eldar needs on update department is Dire avengers, fire dragons, warp spiders, swooping hawks and wraithlord kit. All of the mentioned kits are old at this point.

I think the Wraithlord is fine. The kit lacks the detail modern kits have but it has a ton of flexibility and is fun to build. It is, imo, in much better shape than the Dire Avengers.

I had't realized that Dire Avengers are already 18 y.o. ... I guess they can be considered as being venerable oldies, yet still in good shape!

I just built a vyper and this kit is from 96!. Copyright date on the sprue. Some stuff on it are a little bit dated but it still bears the comparison. Mostly because the rest of the vehicle range, save harlies and bikes, are as old as it is. Any upgrade of a cire vehicle kit will IMO increase the "outdated" perception.

I hope the focus will be on footslogger first. Indeed, gamewise, the vyper is already not that worth. Basic pack of 3 bikes or Voiweaver do as good or better. Updating the model should include updating the rules and getting more guns.

Brand new units would be nice but consolidating the current ones shiuld be priority.

I wouldn't want the Wraithlord replaced, the kit does everything it needs to and the design wouldn't lend itself to details it doesn't already have. Worst thing I can say about the kit is some moldlines are slightly pronounced? Honestly it's a brilliant kit, I don't think a refresh would do much for it.

Agree on the Wraithlord, it's still a fine kit. The only thing I would really want in terms of a change is the ability to bend the knees for more pose options.

Yeah, I had to cut one of mine up a lot to make the leg/knee work. But likely if GW made a new one itd be a cool pose but no options

40k MTO as well. I had a metal Aun'Shi arrive a few days ago from a MTO earlier this year.

Given rumours there's nothing saying the eldar vehicles and Wraithlord (side note: I remember when this was just an Eldar Dreadnought!) are even on GWs radar for an update. They're very much safe for now.

There are like 5 kits in 40k in metal.

Straken, Pask, Regimental Advisors, Ratlings, Ezekiel.

Also as mentioned MTO is pretty frequently metal for releases that never moved to finecast. I've got a metal Ethereal, and obviously Steel Legion release was all metal.

But yeah, you're basically right.

If they do touch the Falcon and Vyper I can use that as a litmus test for whether I need to worry about the Tau vehicles getting redone.

Hmm, this kind of scares me.

I think the Devilfish chassis looks pretty much perfect as is (although I'd love the Fish to be sold with the Smart Missile Systems too). I mean, we could even rotate the engines! I know they're old, what end of third, beginning of fourth? Maybe a recut as I seem to recall some pretty epic mould lines from the way it went together but personally I don't really want them reimagined.

I'd love Tetras to come to plastic as I think they're cool models and concept.
