I grabbed one and it was metal. I don't think it was ever in finecast. I could be wrong, though.

I don't recall exactly how old the Bonesinger is, but just looking at the model I can tell ya that thing smells like pewter spirit, so at best it's getting a Made To Order.

I think the Bonesinger might be from 4th edition era. It was inspired by DoW, and I remember it from a WD a friend had in high school.

Bonesinger was released in November 2006, with the 4th ed. Eldar Codex release, which also included the Dire Avengers. That month's WD was #323.

I've got a Bonesinger model unpainted and yeah, it's oooold. That it's still in my pile of shame is kinda ridiculous at this point. Wasn't it also a deliberately limited release? I can't remember for sure now.

Yeah I think the bonesinger was limited, or direct only or something. I thought it was the limited edition model in the early release army box they used to do back then, but I actually saw the white dwarf that that was in recently and it was an Autarch.

The Bonesinger came out at the same time but I can't remember where. It might just have been a mail-order only special. It has been available at least once MTO since then as I picked one up.

All not already plastic models should always take precedent, but really, any and every model old enough to drink should be considered for renewal.

 

Hopefully the Chaos Rhino, Predator and Land Raider get their own new models now that they can drink and there are loyalist Primaris replacements.

I think GW missed a trick by not updating Trazyn the same time as Orikon.

I'm surprised they haven't just done the Sniper Drone team for Tau, you'd think that would be the easiest thing to remake in plastic, it's just some fancy drones and a few lads looking into a targeter.

The models are 21+ years old now. That's not subjective, that's objective. Is it you don't want chaos space marines to get new vehicle kits like loyalist marines have? Chaos space marines are well past the point of copy and paste loyalist stuff and add spikes at this point. They could use new kits now that the loyalist have got new bikes, quad, speeders, gladiator, repulsor, impulsor etc.

The Land Raider could absolutely do with a new kit just because the damn thing barely fits together anymore. The Rhino is still perfectly serviceable though. I could see the argument for a new Chaos upgrade sprue but I'd rather the base Rhino stayed the same.

I'm not talking a radical design change, but I want more than a 20+ year old box with spikes. And absolutely not an upgrade sprue! That's what it already is, shares two sprues. New chaos only rhino, predator and land raider would service all 4 cult legions and the main chaos codex. Come with cool damaged panels and chaos grimy stuff, maybe a panel for each god similar to how the daemon prince kit got a head for each one.

update it and add the mk2b sponsons and achillies parts and move it over to the 30k range please.

There's always the risk the land raider goes away and gets replaced with the helmouth manspurter and some weird tracked orifice etc.
