Bases?

Since I sort of see them as miners, I want a mine themed base but I am coming up empty. No idea what to do. Any ideas out there? how do you base your guys?

For a mining theme, I would start out with rocky bases. You can either decorate the normal warhammer bases or buy some specially made ones like the ones below.

 

 

The next thing I would do would be to add some minerals to the bases that the Votann might be mining. Lots of people put tufts of grass or greenery on their bases but you could use gems or precious metals instead. There are lots of ways you could so this. The easiest way would be to get some fine gravel or coarse sand and spray it with cheap gold paint. Then stick a few pieces to each base once the models are on to represent nuggets or ores of precious metals.

 

If you want something a bit more dramatic, you could try adding crystals to the base. You can buy cheap decorative crystals in all sort of places but the ones below are a cool example and other colours are available. This would give a very Deep Rock Galactic feel (Rock and Stone!).
