apologist
Dice trays, objective counters, tape measures, wound markers... all bits and bobs that you can improvise or make-do-and-mend with, but also an opportunity to splash out or put a bit of extra effort into. What accessories for your games are you particularly pleased with? Whether it's a set of dice that matches your army, a laser pointer for LoS, or a clever way to keep your table free of clutter, please share your stories (and pics!) here. Dr_Ruminahui
I made these markers for my chaos army to mark the objectives I made sticky by my cultists. The red scales on white are my warband symbol - for example, here is on on my landraider and one of my possesseds. I also picked a purple D&D dice set with gold numbers that I use as wound counters that go great with the purple and gold of my army (the 2 purple dice in the photo). I'm really happy to have snagged them, as they look great - I picked them up in one of the big chain bookstores while shopping for other stuff. I also make extensive use of the markers from the last edition of kill team to mark which units ran, etc. (or are under temporary effects) - you can see one in the photo above (the grey marker with the red symbol) I find they are a great help - as the years pile on I find everything that makes it easier to remember things definitely makes the game more enjoyable. gaurdian31
A friend of mine has a bunch of ghost shaped erasers that we use for wound counts and some erasers with skulls printed on them we use as well. Makes a great visualization of how damaged something is. Rusted Boltgun
I have three sets of Ork Kommando dice for Kill Team. I really like the tactile nature of GW dice but wouldn't buy three sets full price. The dice are black / orange and I really like the strong contrast in colours, they are nice to read. I also have the same number Legionnaries dice but that was more by accident than design. They are in the reverse colours - orange / black. I also have some GW Raven Guard dice but they are slightly smaller and just... don't feel right. It doesn't have to be 'official GW' for me though. My dice tray is homemade Using the IKEA picture frame method listed on Fauxhammer. I've now made four of them (yes, I do have friends) and they were fun to make and I love using it. gaurdian31, WAR and Dr_Ruminahui 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/384021-wargame-accessories/#findComment-6065600 Share on other sites
Firedrake Cordova
For me, it's Chessex's Translucent range of dice (specifically red, blue, purple, orange, and teal) - not only are they cheaper than their Signature range, they're more readable, and look quite nice when the light hits them. My (ancient) Scarab Royal Blue and Jade, and old-formulation Borealis Aquerple, Teal, and Royal Purple sets get an honourable mention - they're prettier, but not quite as legible... I find Warlord Game's Bolt Action pin markers really useful as wound counters (just spray base part and paint the numbers and the pointer to make them more easily readable). Magos Takatus
Ooh, I quite like the idea of custom dice trays. I quite like the idea of customising an army-specific dice tower, but I'm more Admech-Adjacent even though I'm playing Orks more currently. NovemberIX
I know I've posted a few of these before, Some army cases I decorated for a gaming buddy. My Killteams/characters case Both sides of my personal dice box on top, the bottom two are separate boxes I use keep terrain tile clips and extra dice. and of course, dice themselves, Color matched to the army or specific units within. I use the lid as a dice tray, but I'll just as often roll on the table ( I know it's a bad habit) Edited September 21 by NovemberIX typo's galore!
