Why does it say there’s 40k reveals when the road map said nothing more for 40K until next year?

are they going to reveal something and then just leave it in limbo for 2+ months?

some have said Christmas boxes, so maybe a BA Christmas box that mashes the new CP with the DC boxset?

maybe drop astorath, and the dread and add the captain and a unit of SG?

Could just be a teaser for Krieg without showing models, could also be a full army set that releases earlier since the dates on the roadmaps would be talking about the individual releases just like Blood Angels is also still noted as upcoming.

Could also just be a narrative book.

Wouldn't be the first time GW reveal something and it doesn't see the light of day until months later.

Maybe some folks are right and they're releasing a Krieg army set prior to the Codex dropping come 2025.

Maybe they just figured the community may go fully rabid if they don't at least show something of what's to come before December rolls around even if nothing being shown hits shelves until at least January.

Still quite a nice miniature.

I was a squinting at the “Next week” releases yesterday and misread the head line as:

”Hank, the Son of Sanguinus”

That would have made an excellent Warhammer Day mini as well,I guess

Weird that it's another chaos Sorcerer after the warhammer tv one. Nice model tho shame 40k doesn't get chaos marine one of characters the same way aos gets endless slaves to darkness ones

The Sorcerer is very nice but a shame they didn't a 40k one too.

Has there been any credible rumours of what we'll see at Warhammer Day?

No but not super hard to infer:

aos - Slaves to Darkness

40k - a preview trailer for either krieg or failing that a novel maybe?

LI - book to go with mechanicum box

KT - next box (orks vs ratlings/ogryn)

Underpants - not a clue

Warhammer underpants, covered in skulls lol

Propane for the propane god!

Interestingly the last one is the only one that got an official direct clue from GW of what will be shown ;)

Its funny how rumors are taken as gospel and GWs own teasing is forgotten.

While valrak is often right, I dont like rumors to prevent the fun of speculating ( besides, the order of things arent always right, for all we know his rumored kt Grey Knights come first and they likely face off against chaos.)

So I will speculate ignoring the rumors, and pretending GW would never have a meaningless teaser with "a chaos focused reveal show" and a picture showing 4 of the 5 gods ( and not just a general chaos or StD related image.)

AoS - Slaves to Darkness, mostly undivided, However like the gaunt summoner on disc there is also a generic Nurgle palanquin model for StD ( wich will solve alot of christmass rumor engines.) wich can also build or effectively replaces Epidemus... this covers Nurgle.

Underpants - Skaven clan skryre team, as teased in the article ( covers the horned rat )

Kill Team - Killteam covers Khorne, either a Berzerkers upgrade sprue ( when ignoring the rumors thats maybe still a thing.) or something new. Maybe even something strange like introducing new Bloodletters through kill team... either way its a team that kills for the kill god's team.

40k - an unsatisfying teaser of a teaser of a teaser for Emperors children ( bam slaanesh covered, in a very slaaneshy way.)

Ofcourse reallistically, even if the preview show offers something for all gods shown on that picture its StD gaunt summoner equivalents for Khorne, Nurgle and Slaanesh... making it perfectly logical why tzeentch is not in the picture.

And dont worry none of the above are expectations, I dont really do expectations.

I did here a muttering about another narrative supplement, a 40k version of fire and jade for combat patrol

We probably are due another Crusade supplement like Pariah Nexus (which now I think of it, would that be something they'd bother naming on their 'road map'?) Could be an even easier way to get something chaos related for 40k without chaos models.

I imagine the community reception would be poor still. Possibly worse. Theybe sort fo told everyone there's nothing, that's largely understood and if the preview has something now which is largely underwhelming - or even irrelevant to many - it will be a fresh dose of feeling neglected for some.

Normally yes, it would have been mentioned, there would be some sort of undetailed mention of this on the roadmap, when its as general as this one and not just a codex roadmap.

(Miniature) releases that usually do evade roadmaps :

-- 40k releases that come trough kill team, WHQ or even AoS family of games ( chaos stuff ) or FW/Horus heresy ( the big knights last year/earlier this year.) but they never tagged those kind of previews as counting double before, even if 40k rules come out of the box, its unlikely the 40k tag for the preview references something like this, but 2024 GW/WHC probably would.

-- 40k setting+miniatures limited boardgames ( with old or new miniatures ) ; Spacehulk, Speed freaks, Roguetrader, Deathwatch overkill, Gangs of commoragh, Stormcloud Attack, Lost Patrol, Execution force etc. These do usually fall under the 40k tag. ( as opposed to having their own tag like for Kill team and WHQ )

-- Limited Boxsets ( like the christmas ones also not mentioned on the roadmap.) also evade roadmap mention, even those with some or all new miniatures in it.

-- LE and Special edition Miniatures also regularily drop out of roadmap, but are usually more seasonal. ( with some rare exceptions.)

I just realise, when looking for old articles on warhammer community in vain, its Spiel Essen this weekend.

This actually makes category 2 a bit more likely as GW adjusts what they preview at spiel more to its target audience ( more boardgame focused.)

This also makes me think/worry its actually more likely we get the Starterset for Kill team previewed rather than the next seasonal box. This does change very little though to what to expect or what to speculate about, as it CAN also have new miniatures, and the starterset could still be the rumored Halflings vs Orks, there is however a high probability it doesnt.

What I've found odd is that normally, in the days leading to the preview show, they'll drop teases on their social media channels, like figures in silhouette, that sort of thing. I looked on twitter today but the only "teaser" is the image of the five chaos gods we've seen already (which again makes me think that the majority of the chaotic reveals will be on the fantasy side of things).

More factions thou, is that what people want?

and would it be just a yannari frankensktien thing that people dont like:ermm:

Well he's kind of used with Iron Warriors. Or rather the detachment, I kind of assumed it would be something along that lines and not a whole new faction.

Christmas boxes. And hints of what is in the pipeline
