Looking to kitbash a unit I described in another thread.

need gravis bodies, shields, and heavy bolters, maybe a plasma cannon?

probably buy the guns and shields off eBay?

my printer isn’t working so I won’t be able to print anything.

Bodies are usually the most expensive bit from a kit, so if you need multiples you'd probably pay more for 5 Gravis bodies from a bits seller than you would for a full box of Heavy Intercessors.

Cheapest way overall is to be the bits seller, i.e. buy the kit, keep the stuff you need, sell the stuff you don't. Whether or not people can be bothered to do that is obviously variable.

It is almost certainly going to be cheaper to find an online retailer and get a box of Gravis vs. just bits buying the bodies.

You've got Aggressors, Inceptors, Eradicators in 3, and Heavy Intercessors in 5.

Depending on the intended kit-bash, maybe buying badly painted/assembled units on eBay for cheap and then stripping/cutting them will save some dollars too.

Hi guys a newbie here.  Just thought i would give my point of view.  I am 62 and just started (not to game but to build & Paint)  I have bought both magazine & model from eBay which is fine & dandy.  However the issue is COSTS.  Some people are very fair on price yet others want an arm & a leg.  I have no issues with people making profits but some are ridiculous.  It wouldn't be so bad if they gave some cash to a charity on line.

Sorry guys just a little rant.

I think the cheapest way to get the bits you need in this day and age is to buy all the kits, get the stuff you need, then sell on the remainder of the kits at as close to RRP - An otherwise fully usable kit with a few bits  missing will often fetch similar prices to a new kit at FLGS discount.

My 30K BA Angels tears were made from Sanguinary Guard (£30) + Rotor cannon sprues (£26) while the actual models are £55. Madness. I could have sold the remaining special weapons for ~30 or so separately, or £20 in one lot, however to recoup some cash.

* this does require capital up-front though, so you get to save money if you can afford it.

@Xenith what a good idea.  I don't play any games i just enjoy building and pulling my hair out (What's left of it) painting the minature.  So for me i guess its no use have 10x minature of the same when i can just have 1 and sell the rest.  Thanks for that info, very thoughtful.

Happy New Year to all
