Firstborn BA kits gone (Pre-Orders, start of October)

Looks like the Furioso and the Death Company set are off the UK webstore, probably not to be reboxed if I had to hazard a guess. Shame, I liked those kits quite a bit. Can anyone confirm these are completely gone from other regions on the website?

I just checked the US, those are not also there. I almost forgot how terrible their website is now. The old one wasn't that bad.

Just a fyi, you can manualy set your region on the website, so you can check any region for item availability at any time yourself.

Tycho, Corbulo, Gabriel Seth, Furioso and Librarian Dreadnoughts are all missing datasheets in the new codex and the Death Company Dreadnought is a reskinned Brutalis which is why they're all being retired

Death Company from now on it's Intercessors with an upgrade kit.

 

The Furioso is gone, but the Brutalis does the same thing, just being a Redemptor and not exclusive to BA.

While i aplaud the sentiment, unless you only play with friends/relaxed environment, the guns dont match even a bit, and the rock will fix the height bulk wise there is still a BIG difference.

 

If you play lots of pick up games, or attend clubs where not everyone is exactly know to you, looking at that model you would not assume it has the armaments its suppose to. And there is 0% chance of getting it into any serious tournament.  It would take some conversion work to bulk it up and add some guns to it.

Glad I nipped out to grab some Death Company a couple of weeks ago when I saw how bad the new ones looked.

 

I was even asked when I brought them to the counter to pay: "Oh, hey, have you seen the new ones on the Community site?"

Ven Dread is still kicking, Centurion's as well. Plus there's still an amount of Space Wolves, Dark Angels and Deathwatch too. (Plus Grey Knights, I don't think they can even be Primarisied, just upscaled) So there's still plenty of firstborn surviving models for now at least.

It's the last of the castaferrum dreadnoughts I like.

5th edition was my intro back into 40K and whatever people may feel about the may ward era of codexes there was a lot of great stuff in that era. So many great space marine releases that shaped the way we see the chapters to this day, range refresh for drukhari, Necron expansion. The list goes on. I will miss these kits.

The chaplain with jump pack is actually in the general codex space marines so isn't strictly BA anymore. Plus it'll still be a few editions before that model is refreshed...maybe the same time we get multipart outriders!

Having said that, I would not be shocked at all if the 11th Edition launch box contains a new, upscaled version of Tactical Marines, in a mix of Mk7, 8 and Tacticus armour, to replace this kit..!

It is more likely that an Intercessor mk3 box will include a missile launcher and a couple of special weapons. Launched alongside a more comprehensive captain lit and primaris Vanguard veterans. Devastor squads are doomed for extinction though I think.
