I would love a Tactical/Intercessor merger, makes them interchangeable enough to field old models without needing to swap out the special or heavy weapon, and means truscale freaks like me get to fold in some extra options for infantry. With the way they started to bring in some firstborn armour bits for the 10th edition Sternguard I think this got a whole lot more likely.

Which I can't wait for. Intercessors look so much better than Tactical Marines it's not funny.

Proportionally, sure. Design wise, not so much. They're fine, and if they'd just been another mark of armour introduced alongside a rescale of Marines I'd not have complained at all. But the fact that going forward all Marines look like this now (with almost zero variation between individuals; Intercessors are basically reposed copypastes of each other) and that Firstborn are being erased from the game is pretty sucky. Especially with the loss of some really nice bespoke kits; the Death Company was filled with really cool pieces.

Anyone saying Intercessors are just reposes of each other has never actually never seen the kit, let alone put one of them together.

There are some extra details (mainly purity seals and holsters) but compared to the Tacticals? C'mon man. Like, compare the armour design variety of this:

There is no dedicated death company kit any more. If you want death company now, it's intercessors/assault intercessors + upgrade sprues + paint it black.

Outside of the Sergeant, there really isn't that much more ornament to the Tacticals. More armor variety without upgrade kits, yes. More ornamentation, no.

There's a bunch of different shoulder pad options and a number of different ways to pose them what with pointing arms, Pistols and reloading.

Same really for the Assault Intercessors, but they have a bit less comparatively.

I have a feeling that they will package these into a new Death Company box. Otherwise there is no way to now get hold of the new dedicated Death Company transfers. Weather they will do two boxes, one for jump intercessors and one for Assault Intersessors, who knows.

I’ve just started putting together the death company jump pack units from the recent boxset, and I’m tempted to wait for the captain as it looks like he’ll come with some interesting spare parts.

As much as I have derided comments that there's supposedly "leagues" between intercessors and tacticals when it comes to variety, ornamentation or "soulfullness", there is admittedly more armor variety than just the mk6 helmet. You got Mk 6 shins, torsos and pads as well, along with Mk4 knees.
