Still nothing from Warbay. I pre-ordered both the Farseer and Wraithlord issues from them and they have let me down both times. I won't be bothering with them again (I need to check if they charged my card).

Any suggestions for somewhere more reliable?

Just checked on Warbay and there is a banner that's appeared this morning at the top:

Warbay Direct and Warbay Magazines are currently moving into a new wargame location (With tables and everything!) This means orders will not be dispatched until 5-7 March. Please bare with us as we ramp up the products available to you.

So it may be that your orders are tied up in the move.... maybe

Though do check if they have charged you as well.

Got a email offering Battlezone Fronteris Nachmund for just £75 as opposed to £155 for GW if you paid full price (£205 if you try to buy it now as separate products)
You have to order it from them if you're subscribed, it won't be included automatically.

Not bad at all.

I have almost two of these personally already, but will pass this on to my sister and she might want to go halvies on it if they offer it here in the states.

Received my first two (USA) issues in the mail yesterday. Really looking forward to that Primaris Company Champion (he doesn't know it yet but he's being promoted to Space Wolves Justiciar) and the aeldari/chaos patrols. Need to find somebody who wants to swap the Ork/Votann sprues, though.

Hoping they open up for Canada eventually. The offer to ship to a Canadian address with the US sub as they did with imperium does not appear to be available this time.

Yeah that sucks. Especially sad as you know nobody is ever going to field 5 of that infernus sergeant model and it’s blatantly for resale. I’d maybe forgive someone if they took 4 lots of jetbikes or something cos you could do something with that in an army.

I’d be sporting enough to just take one though. Just gonna say for clarification I only got one copy and it was for me, not to resell lol

Maybe not the infernus sergeant - I didnt even bother with one copy of this,

I did pick up multiple of the captain and the lieutenant models in the previous magazine runs to have options for conversions (and I know my son might eventually want a version too)
Similar with the issue terminator captain at the start of this magazine run - its nice to have a few of the same model sometimes for different armies/conversions

..but I do agree with you about being sporting about it and I have deliberately only taken individual issues of some things when stock seems low.

I am considering the jetbikes issues but not sure if I will have already missed out on the first issue of these (depends on how they do the bases with them)

FP shaftbury had probably around 20-30 of the wraithlord on the shelf on Wednesday/Thursday last week. I was surprised they had any. I wont be back in London until Wednesday to see if any are still left

They also had on offer the second part of the gaunts, the one with the bases in, for £7.99.  The earlier issue only, later one was still full price despite being effectively the same.

Really surprised by that as they sold out very early on FP's website (and everywhere else that sells them online!). They were also gone from my local newsagent and WHSmith by the time I got to them on Wednesday too. Shame as I would have liked a couple!

In case anybody needs another option for buying, there is Travelling Man web shop:

https://travellingman.com/search?q=combat+patrol+magazine

There is still a Farseer available, but most others are sold out, but at least it's another option for upcoming issues.

Great deal in theory, but I’ve always thought this set was a bit uninspiring. It’s the terrain equivalent of putting down a box and a couple of strips of card - no different levels, no way in or out of the terrain, no firing steps or anything, no windows, etc etc. I’ve looked at it a few times and just thought “meh.”

I’ve got this set and that take pretty much nails it. The stockyard walls are pretty uninspiring, and while the hut and landing pad are good they’re best stacked on top of each other (more levels!) so you’re basically giving up a piece of terrain (or two, depending on how you look at it). It’s a great *supplementary* set if you have other terrain, though, and pretty great narrative stuff. If you’ve got some hills or some of sector mechanicum stuff, with the gantries, it’s a good set to pair with. Even a couple sets of shipping crates go a long way with this one. The landing pad/missile solo is great, as are the towers. The hut is meh but sturdy and stupid easy to assemble. All a bit of a pain to paint—many fiddly little individual bits, if you want to maintain maximum terrain flexibility.

A bit of a necro here, I think, and a long comment, but thank you very much for the list. Would I be able to find updated lists somewhere, perhaps even in this thread and my old butt just glossed right over the updates?

I bought the first CP issue on eBay from a seller in Jolly Ol’ England but with the shipping it was just so expensive that I said the heck with it and hoped that they would get around to releasing it here Across the Pond so your American cousins could enjoy it as well, which they have now done and I received the first two issues last week. And yes, I’m a Premium Subscriber because I am horribly addicted to Plastic Crack.

Seriously, I have thousands of 40K, AoS, and HH: AoD minis everywhere and I have so many that I’m not sure which ones I do and don’t have. The best part? I’ve not painted a single one of them because I know that I’ll do a lousy job and I’ll then be pissed that my first painted mini isn’t good enough to win the Golden Demon and all. Insane, I know, but I have ridiculously high expectations and standards of myself. . . that I pretty much always fail to meet. Bwahahahaha. I suck.

At least I get the joy of putting them together, which is something that I absolutely love to do even when they are tiny pieces that piss me off to no end and break, much like the Deathrattle Skeletons in the Soulblight Gravelords Vanguard/Spearhead that my parents bought me for Christmas - first damn skeleton had three separate breaks that I had to repair. Haven’t touched the rest of the skeletons yet, but can you blame me?

But yeah, I’d love to see what all you guys in the UK have gotten thus far so I know what is coming and when - other than the Genestealers and the Leagues I have all of the Combat Patrols that come in the CP Magazine subscription and I’m trying to decide which ones I will keep, trade, or sell.

And has there been any announcements about a second year with CPs that aren’t included in the first years’ sub?

Also also, and lastly - just heard today that they’re sending you guys over there emails about buying an add-on to the subscription that sends you terrain and buildings; have you seen that yet and is it worth buying?

So the subscription isn't an annual thing, it's for the run of the magazine which is 90 issues, published weekly (so altogether it runs just under 2 years).

The contents of the magazine are already publicised - there will be no additional Combat Patrols added to the subscription beyond those we already know about. The only additional models, which we don't know the full details of yet, are in special issues that you can opt out of receiving (recently there was one with Tigurius).

I hope that helps!

Just keep an eye on the first post of this whole thread on page 1, @Halandaar is kindly keeping the list up to date with what's to come etc.

I got in touch with Warbay customer service. Apparently the reason is that I also ordered a copy of issue 39 and they will dispatch everything in one go when that issue is available to reduce postage costs.

It looks like this one is on me for not reading the fine print so I retract my earlier criticism and I will wait patiently for my complete set.

I've felt this very keenly myself and would spend hours on some models despite them being fairly rank and file.
What helped me the most... playing with new painting styles e.g. contrast paints when I hadnt used them before - it gave me permission to fail and accept it.
Also,.. screwing up the varnish on said models (orks) so they ended up a bit misty
Also,... painting terrain as a break from minis! I've no idea who it was now but someone posted something that resonated..... to paraphrase: terrain is meant to be in the background to the models so it being less intricate/detailed etc isnt a bad thing.

I've switched to painting more for the fun of it than it being a tedious part of the hobby which makes such a difference. I now only dread painting the center piece models.....

Back on topic - as others have said no, they are not planning on more combat patrols. They did switch a few of them around a bit at one point early on to have a few different units. Less likely they will do that again. The terrain set was something a bit new though (i think in the previous magazine versions they had some books or a paint set) - maybe they will do something this way for new combat patrols or at least some units to add to existing forces to make up different options.

Imperium had terrain included as part of the base magazine. Combat patrol is only models, paints and a few accessories, there is no terrain included unless they have separate add on offers like the one mentioned previously.

Didn’t manage to get the third part of the jetbikes, just as expected… that’s annoying

FP Shaftsbury Ave had quite a few in store yesterday.

I might have picked up a couple myself and even started building one last night. More fiddly than I thought they would be in a few places. I now finding myself wanted to get a couple of Vipers and a Skyrunner or two

A few online places seem to have them still too if you were so inclined, The usual suspects, Newstand, Buymagsdirect
