For anyone in the US that has done any of the other 40k or AoS ones how much does it average per month usually?

It was $66.52 when I did Imperium. Mind you this is without the premium or the quarterly gift issues.

I did a calc based off my receipt from the pre-order. Including S&H plus tax a basic sub should be ~$74 per month.

Yep I think it's roughly $74 with the premium. I can't see a reason not to go for the premium, but also I think I'm less interested overall in this one compared to the last.

Premium is looking to cost $86.88 if the calc is correct. Still not bad overall.

It looks like there is no way to get individual issues for the US  release?

Subscribing just for the first batch seems like a good way to get the two characters.

In the past there wasn't a way to get individual issues in the US unless you managed to stumble upon early issues that were used as bait in stores.  They also wouldn't let you skip any part, you had to be subbed from day 1 to the end, and if you ended it early, no way to re-subscribe later on.

Alrighty, I think that’s a no go for me then.

Yeah it's kinda weird that the subscription service is just so much worse in the US despite it being the same product.  There's plenty of history of subscription services in the US for this exact type of thing (Older Frater might remember Columbia House or the various "Subscribe for this CD!" services), but GW doesn't seem to feel the need to expand it's availability that much.

Think the reason is that in the case of the US they have a decent foothold here and the magazines are made to get people into the hobby. It's why the first dozen or so issues in the UK and EU are at newstands while here in the states we're lucky to get the first two or three in the GW stores.

It's a different customer base these days.

That or Hachette just doesn't have the infrastructure on this side of the pond to support us yanks as well as they do on the other side of the Atlantic

I think this is more or less the culprit.  It's not like starter sets don't exist in both places.  Hachette just isn't that kind of brand over here.

Just glad my sister is also doing this, so we have been planning a few exchanges to get what we need more of. the one I really wanted off the bat was the leapers, that way I'll have enough to make the vanguard CP after this. Next major exchange is with the GSC, which I should get to looking at those alternate bikers soonish.
