Return to small flamer template in AoD

Just an idea. In 2nd ed, hand flamethrowers and similar used their own template. Like the flamethrowers, but smaller.

Why not we use it again in Horus Horus AoD for hand flamers? It's easy to find and make,even on cardboards. The hand flamers can be Str 4 but use a smaller template and we can use the rest of rules as usual.

Maybe can re boost using hand flamers in all armies.

I remember the template fondly. I feel like the designers didn’t do a bad compromise reducing the strength to 3 when it had to switch. I’m dishing out hand flamers to my Blood Angels and World Eaters now (maybe because I’m short of bolt pistols!).

 

I’d be happy to play your way if we played a game. I’d like it even more if the bigger heavy flamer template came back…
