So I'm assuming that by now everyone will have seen the news that AT will be getting rules for the new Dark Mech stalker things.

I am pretty happy this is happening as it might shake up the meta a bit. That said, it's getting a bit ridiculous how much of an advantage in terms of options the Traitors have. The Warlord-Sinister is cool and all, but not everyone wants to run one. And the Vortex missile is still super good even after the nerf but it doesn't make up for the panoply of fantastic upgrades the Traitors have (talking wargear + corruptions). And now the Traitors will have exclusive access to the Dark Mech stuff (I'm assuming). It's getting a bit much.

That’s kind of the all-encompassing theme of the Heresy: despite being completely outnumbered and on the verge of annihilation, the Loyalists managed to emerge victorious (as phyrric as it were). I am curious to see if they give the Loyalist Mechanicum options for AT as well, however, and if so what they could actually be. Perhaps larger automata akin to the Thanatar but more Knight-sized, or entire forces consisting of Mechanicum Knight patterns with little in the way of restrictions or perhaps more independence on the field.

It would be quite in character of the setting to have the Loyalist Mechanicum have no answer for the Dark Mechanicum’s creations however, as they largely had none in the Heresy itself and were mainly in a defensive position (or just completely blockaded or besieged) for the better part of the war. I do hope they get something though, it would be a shame to play the True Mechanicum and not have the chance to crush the Loyalists.

Despite a smidgen of grizzlies, it's the best ruleset GW has ever made.

The game is heaps of fun. It does get a bit hard to manage once you're using a tonne of Titans, but at the scale it was designed for, it's awesome.

To fix the grizzlies, Chaos stuff needs a points tweak. They should have more options in the HH setting, but to keep things fair, they need to pay for them.

The models look great and I’m excited to use them in LI… not really sure how I feel about their AT rules, however. For the most part, I can’t see them being much of a threat to a Maniple of Titans proper on their own and the lack of proper allied rules are frustrating but expected. Originally, I was going to get these primarily for Titanicus, but after seeing how they interact with the game, I think they’ll be better suited for Legions.

Nice review article. I am curious to see if we get some further DM-specific maniples in future, although I suspect that GW may not want to focus the studio resource on that just at the moment.

Yeah it  kind of looks like a "one and done" release where they designed two sprues. It would be cool to have some kind of reaver-sized stalker though I think.

I'm pretty sure they'll do them for big 30k, though I haven't seen or heard anything that would confirm that.
