Well something somewhere has to be wrong, because the book wouldn't have Shalaxi but not the Masque, or Daemonettes but not Seekers.

Datasheet count suggests not all the Daemon units made it in so either none of them are in and there's more generic CSM vehicles than expected, or it's just the most generic ones (Herald, Daemonettes, Seekers, Fiends, Chariots)

Edit - This in turn should lay to rest the rumours that Daemons are no longer a faction in their own right, because not being able to take the named Slaaneshi Daemons in an EC army means they need to live somewhere.

Unless the Daemons stay as an Index for the rest of 10th and 11th brings a culling of Daemons from 40k, but who knows?

I just checked the LVO preview video and they say “the slaaneshi demons are included in the book as well”

I was meaning the Daemons we get in the Codex will be the only ones (including the similar daemons for the other mono gods) that survive in 11th, with the Daemon index being away to play Daemons in 10th and going away in 11th.  <---- this is just speculation and not a belief!

I think maybe there could I be a chance that they are included in the codex in a sense of they give us rules to summon them or include them in games , but they official rules will be in a demons codex in the future , but we will have to wait and see

YES! Finally. So so excited! Planning on grabbing two boxes.

You'd think not, but this is GW we're talking about. Seemingly arbitrary decisions are their bread and butter so I honestly wouldn't be surprised.

He looks awesome

But either way, next week community posts AND LET THE LEAKS FLOW, we can see the rules and start theory rolling and making lists , such exciting times

That sounds too reasonable. GW will obviously kill off daemons and send assassins out to anyone still owning any daemons outside of the officially sanctioned ones found in the cult legion codices.

It does sound right now that they’ve gone look at all your ec armies pre codex…. Well you better sell them haha

"This ostentatious champion comes with a choice of weapon options including phoenix power spear and rapture lash, as well as four different power packs and two head options."

Exsqueeze me? Baking powder?

Part of me assumes that has to be a mistake but - I really hope it isn't.

//

Also, apparently it's rapture lash and not rupture lash.

//

Cope: maybe the 22 datasheets cards don't include the daemons, as they already have datacards?

Otherwise, currently (ie without Daemons): WE have 23, TS 28, and DG 32.

If EC only have 22 datasheets including daemons then we'd have one of the smallest armies in the game.

//

Known datasheets:

  1. Fulgrim
  2. Lucius
  3. Shalaxi Helbane
  4. Lord Exultant
  5. Lord Kakophonist
  6. EC Sorcerer
  7. EC Daemon Prince
  8. EC Daemon Prince with Wings
  9. Keeper of Secrets
  10. Tormentors
  11. Infractors
  12. Daemonettes
  13. Flawless Blades
  14. EC Terminators
  15. Fiends of Slaanesh
  16. EC Chaos Spawn
  17. Noise Marines
  18. EC Rhino
  19. EC Land Raider
  20. EC Maulerfiend
  21. EC Heldrake

Oh god, the leaks were true... unless it's not including the four bolded daemons.

But even if that's so, then only five of: Cultists, Helbrute, Forgefiend, Defiler, Predator Annihilator, Predator Destructor, Terminator Lord, Terminator Sorcerer. Eight things that I'd have wanted (and expected) in the book, and potentially only one of them.

And then if it is 22 including daemons, then no Masque, no Seekers, no Chariots, no Tranceweaver, etc, etc. I had assumed Seekers would be our answer to Bikers/Raptors - will we just have no fast attack?

Would be weird for them to have used the same power pack 3 times if there’s 4 options…

I’d also rather there were more heads and less power pack options if it is true, but hey ho.

I think what they’re referring to is the symbol on the power pack could be different options, I know that in the army photo there’s new symbols on the rhinos which looks like it may come from the Lord or the infractors

From the video we can also get a better look at the piece's Tormentor/Infractor Champion with Phoenix Power Spear (fingers crossed it's actually in the kit) and folks with a variety of cooler shoulder pads, as well as Cultists.

The only way it would make sense (to me) is if there were options for Icon(s), Combat Drug Dispenser, and Doom Siren. (But I doubt it.)

Seems likely, it's not beyond GW to squat stuff and they're very clearly against cross-range stuff, which daemons are the poster boy for.

At long last it is here.

That seems like a very small roster though. I can't understand the point in taking away Predators for example.

It does make sense to not include every single Daemon unit though. Especially all the characters. The Infernal Rapturess or Contorted Epitome are great in AoS but really don't fit in 40k.

I would not be surprised if long term GW has a plan that current Daemon models go AoS only and they'll do 40k Daemons as separate things. They really seem to have issues with models being available for more than one system (which is is stupid but GW loves being stupid a lot).
